Chapter 2960: Chapter 2960. Gathering To Leave
With Su and Remey in tow, Walker found that their walk actually sped up. He had expected that they might want to stop here or there with the new developments in Genesis having started to bring in a few more races from the dark elemental plane. However, he found that they were less worried and didn’t even try to push him to go there to help.
Their argument as to why was simply that Mordant was handling it and Ventus along with Terron had already started to leave him to handle things.
From what they spoke about, Walker caught on that the royal dragons had become much more trusting with one another’s work and territories. So much that their past squabbles over villages or strength had become almost forgotten despite that not being too long ago in their minds.
This was simply because Genesis was developing so much that they had more to focus on. Why fight one another when they could keep leading everyone toward something greater? Their innate pride kept them wishing to show off what those who followed them could do despite their races.
It was somewhat heart warming that this side of the royal dragons had started to fade and grow in the most positive of ways. Then again, he also understood that their elders still clashed and dragons would always be dragons in a way.
"Gil and Alma might not want to go." Su hummed softly as they arrived outside of the archives for elven history. This was a place where much of the information brought by the various villages and groups of elves was sorted before being copied and brought to the main Genesis archive for longer term storage and recording.
It was a place that Alma frequented because she had begun to find many interests in how the various elves had lived through the years separated from one another.
Every single story of the elves carving out a village or facing natural disasters inspired her and helped her understand the people she wished to lead properly. Gil on the other hand, was with her because he has been interested in how they fight and what ways he could enhance those methods for teaching.
From what he had learned, he recently taught several instructors the high elf dagger technique and they were not refining it to be able to teach it better to the younger elves wishing to become high elves eventually. It was something that was necessary as many more elves were understanding paths to becoming high elves and igniting the true essence of the blood they carried.
It was even better since quite a few had begun to awaken different aspects of their own paths within their high elf bloodline focusing in one singular manas and enhancing their innate skills or learned crafts to advance beyond what they knew before.
"Hello, we have a larger order for copies today, please walk up the side stairway to the office set aside for Lady Alma and Sir Gil." One of the attendants caught their attention quickly. She appeared to be flustered due to the several crates of books being brought around but that was just part of a busy day at work. Remey, Su, and Walker gave her a nod and headed up towards a slightly larger office that held some older original documents and some journals that Alma had been making.
Alma was currently reading through several documents that all showed different trees and designs that were used in different lands. They were the best way for her to understand the connection she made herself with plants and the spirit trees within Genesis. Even if she was not necessarily a saintess of the trees or representative of them, she had bonded with them to help them grow and now she has something unique.
Naturally, she wanted to make sure that everyone in the future generations would be able to better understand them as a whole regardless of who would be a leader or chosen to properly care for them. Plus, she just generally enjoyed learning more and more about plants since each one could be a seed she manipulated in battle or for assistance to others.
"Bye Gil, have fun going on another adventure despite me not wanting you to. I will just make sure that you have a lot more work to do when you get back."
Gil jerked his head up in false hurt. He knew too well that Alma was not lying about getting him a stack of work for her when he was back, but he also felt like the attack on him was unwarranted.
"I will be back sooner than you think!" He had already promised a hundred times that if Walker and everyone else needed to work on something far away that he would make them return sooner than later. But it didn’t seem to have any effect on Alma at all.
There were some visible changes to Alma lately. All thanks to the potions Remey personally tailored to her for nutrients and growth.
The fact that she was with child had become evident and it would certainly break some records for child development in the elf race. That wasn’t the important part though, these potions had allowed her to grow her focus on her own skills as well. Giving her an optimal environment to grow better compared to what she had been before.
As a literal queen of elves for her race now, the work she was put toward was always stressful. She continued the focus on her skills and class but that wasn’t a focus for her entirely. Therefore, she was left missing important meals or rest.
The potions started to make up for that showing that with proper care any leader could better keep their health. It had quickly become an example for others within Genesis and soon would be for those outside as well.
Scylla had already told the Demi-human king Rorik that he had to make changes to better strengthen himself or else she would easily defeat him in battle. And with the focus on Demi-human culture being fighting strength that would surely make an impact.
Not that she couldn’t beat him already. She had grown significantly as well. But she would always think herself weaker because she had been raised and protected by the people and his care too.
"We should not be away for long. I couldn’t be able to with how much is going on. We brought more races in to Genesis and made a literal prison for those who violated basic rights of others. I need to be nearby or present in case I am needed."
Walker was well aware that he could be called on too. Especially by the true dark sage who may have more for him to do in terms of the hollow eyed race. Yet, he did believe that Mordant would and could handle anything that happened.
Mordant might be more reclusive in nature, but his strength was not to be underestimated. He had power because he knew he needed it. To keep up with the other royal dragons and also to protect those around him as well.
Plus, he easily recruited the perfect people to help him. That was the benefit to having that reclusive side of him.
He gathered information and learned who was best at what. It fit perfectly with the hidden Sid wood Genesis guards that patrolled at night in in the shadows. It also kept those with assassin or similar classes in the just path instead of falling to the darker side of society. Something Walker was extremely proud of since Genesis seemed to have a tight grip on such things.
"Be safe then" the softness in Alma’s words made Su and Remey shower her in their own affection while Gil nodded softly and gave an even brighter smile. The two didn’t need to say more to one another, they knew what they felt and they understood their bond.
"Onyx won’t come by the way. He is busy, but Midnight will." Gil surprised Walker as they walked out back on to the streets which had become busier.
"He has to handle the dual dungeon in his village. It’s opening sooner since they learned to direct mana toward it. He told me when I saw him a couple of hours ago that eight of the serpent became caretakers for the entrance with special classes."
It was good news and sad news.
Yes the serpents found a new class and could help their race grow while teaching others. But Onyx wouldn’t be able to come with them. It made Walker feel a bit sad since he had hoped they all could go.
But responsibility took precedence here. And they all understood that.
