Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Facility
Asher looked at the key in his hand before looking at the door.
He inserted the key into the lock, opened the door, and stepped inside.
After entering the room, he quietly closed the door behind him.
He then looked around. It was a small room.
There was only a single bed, a small table, a chair, a closet and bathroom.
Asher walked over to the closet and opened it.
Inside were several neatly folded white doctor’s uniforms, all prepared in advance.
Since everyone’s storage rings had been taken away when they arrived, none of them had any personal belongings left.
They would have to use whatever had been provided here.
Asher, however, was different.
As a spatial mage, he still had access to his subspace and could take out anything he had stored inside it.
However, this place was under the control of two—or perhaps even more—Grandmaster-rank individuals.
The moment he tried to access his subspace and take something out, there was a high chance that they would notice it immediately.
Asher then looked toward the bathroom.
It was small and simple, with only the basic necessities.
After taking a brief look inside, he closed the bathroom door and sat down on the bed.
The bed was of low quality, nothing like the comfortable one he had back in town.
There wasn’t even a computer for him to play games on.
Asher let out a quiet sigh.
Since he didn’t know if someone was watching him at that very moment, he only muttered inwardly,
’What the hell have I gotten myself into now?
I don’t even have my other vessels in my mini spatial domain. I never thought something like this would happen.
Now that I think about the mini spatial domain... I should find a way to connect all of them with each other. It would make things much easier in the future.’
After thinking about it for a moment, Asher discarded those thoughts.
There was no point thinking about something he couldn’t do anything about right now.
He should focus on gathering information about this facility instead.
One thing was certain.
They were experimenting on demons.
As for why, he would find out sooner or later.
At the same time, this would also give him a chance to study demons up close, since he would probably need to fight them in the future.
He might even learn something about the Church’s inner workings.
After all, Dr. Samuel clearly held a very important position if a Grandmaster-rank member was constantly assigned to protect him.
Since Asher had also been assigned as Dr. Samuel’s personal assistant, gathering information would be much easier if he stayed close to him.
Asher then thought about the Dream Demon.
It was quite a unique type of demon.
Then he remembered the nightmare it had shown him.
The nightmare was simply him eating an ice cream.
Then, just as he was about to take another bite, the ice cream fell onto the ground.
That was it.
Asher couldn’t help but wonder what kind of nightmare that was.
’Shouldn’t it have shown me my time in the Abyss or something?
After thinking about it for a moment, he came to a conclusion.
I guess it was simply too weak to recreate the nightmares from my time in the Abyss.
Maybe a higher-ranked Dream Demon could recreate them.
But even if it could, I already used to those memories, so it wouldn’t really matter.’
Asher soon discarded those thoughts.
Instead, he decided to walk around the facility and gather some information.
The first thing he wanted to find out was the total number of Master-rank guards stationed there, along with any other useful information he could learn.
Asher left his room and began walking through the facility.
As he walked, he noticed that there wasn’t a single window anywhere. There wasn’t even an exit in sight.
So it’s probably underground, Asher thought.
The only way in or out is probably through the teleportation formations.
And only Grandmaster-rank individuals like Steve or Klein can likely control them.
He continued walking through the facility.
No one stopped him.
However, every Master-rank guard he passed looked at him, making sure he didn’t try anything suspicious.
Asher also noticed that there were many rooms throughout the facility.
Each room had its own number.
After walking for some time, he eventually reached another section of the facility.
The rooms there were numbered 1 to 8.
Two Grandmaster-rank members of the Church were standing guard at the entrance to that section.
The moment Asher tried to walk toward it, one of them stopped him.
It was clear he wasn’t allowed to enter.Asher didn’t insist. He simply looked toward the rooms.
Whatever is being kept there must be extremely dangerous.Otherwise, there wouldn’t be two Grandmaster-rank members guarding that section alone.
After walking around the facility for some more time, Asher returned to his room.
He closed the door behind him, lay down on the bed, and began organizing the information he had gathered.
A total of ninety-six numbered rooms.
Several other rooms used as residences.
One cafeteria.
A total of two hundred and thirty-five Master-rank Light-element guards.
Along with many healers ranging from below Master rank to Master rank.
The most important piece of information, however, was something else.
A total of four Grandmaster-rank individuals.
That alone was more than enough to kill his current vessels if they fought.
Right now, he only had two hundred and twenty-one Master-rank vessels.
Although that number was increasing every day and would probably become quite large after some time, it was still far too little to fight four Grandmasters.
Moreover, he couldn’t even summon them here.
His vessels had no way of teleporting into this facility.
He couldn’t escape either.
He have to be extremely careful here.
He can’t afford to do anything suspicious.
After gathering all this information and sharing it with his other vessels, Asher began thinking about what he should do next.
