The creature had a humanoid shape, but its body was unnaturally thin, with long limbs and pale gray skin. Its face had no nose or ears, only a wide mouth filled with sharp black teeth and a pair of completely white eyes without any pupils. Thin strands of black mist constantly drifted from its body, but the moment they touched the magic formations, they disappeared.

Even while being restrained, the creature remained completely silent, simply staring upward with its lifeless white eyes.

Before Asher could understand what that creature was, Klein let go of his arm and walked toward the stone table.

He then pressed a small button embedded into its side.

The moment he did, a few of the magic formations and spells restraining the creature disappeared.

Almost instantly, Asher felt something trying to affect his consciousness.

His vision blurred for a brief moment.

Then his body suddenly went completely still.

Dr. Samuel looked at Asher’s motionless figure before turning toward Klein.

Then he asked,"How much time do you think it will take him to get out of the nightmare he’s experiencing right now?"

Klein looked at Asher for a moment before replying,"Since it’s only a Platinum-rank Dream Demon, it should take him around ten minutes to break free from the nightmare, assuming he’s at least good enough."

Dr. Samuel looked back at Asher before saying,"I think he’ll get out in five minutes."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"Steve said he’s the best one among them, and Steve is good at judging people."

Dr. Samuel and Klein quietly looked at Asher.

However, only one minute later—

Asher suddenly moved again.

His eyes regained their focus.

He first looked at the strange creature lying on the table before looking at Dr. Samuel.

Then he asked in a calm tone,"What is that?"

Dr. Samuel looked at Asher with a slightly surprised expression.

Klein also looked at him for a moment.

Neither of them had expected Asher to wake up so quickly.

Dr. Samuel looked at Asher before saying,

"You’re better than I expected."

He then looked at the creature lying on the table and continued,"It’s a Dream Demon."

"At lower ranks, it’s one of the weakest types of demons. However, if it reaches the higher ranks, it becomes one of the strongest."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"As everyone knows, demons grow stronger by devouring others.However, not all demons devour flesh."

He looked back at the Dream Demon.

"Some demons feed on nightmares instead."

"They invade a person’s mind, trap them inside a nightmare, and devour that nightmare."

"The more nightmares they consume, the stronger they become, eventually ranking up just like any other demon."

Dr. Samuel continued,

"Once they reach Master rank, they become far more dangerous."

"At that point, they can enter your nightmare completely. Their physical body disappears from the real world, leaving no way to attack them from the outside."

He looked at Asher before continuing,

"The only way to kill a Master-rank Dream Demon is to find it inside your own nightmare and kill it before the nightmare kills you."

"If you fail, you die."

Asher listened quietly without saying anything.

Dr. Samuel continued,

"A Dream Demon isn’t limited to showing you only your own nightmares.It can also force you to experience the nightmares of other people."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"Once a Dream Demon reaches Grandmaster rank, it becomes even more terrifying."

"At that stage, it can create its own domain and drag your physical body into it."

"Inside that domain, nightmares become reality."

"Not only your own nightmares, but the nightmares of everyone trapped inside can be brought to life."

"Within that small world, those nightmares can take physical form and attack you as if they were real."

He looked at the restrained Dream Demon lying on the table before adding,

"This one is only Platinum rank, so it’s almost harmless unless there are other enemies nearby who can take advantage of you while you’re completely defenseless."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"However, that doesn’t mean you can’t escape its nightmare."

"Unlike Master-rank Dream Demons, you don’t have to destroy the nightmare to get out."

"As long as it’s below Master rank, enough physical stimulation from the outside can force you to wake up and escape the nightmare on your own."

Dr. Samuel looked at Asher before saying,

"Well, that’s enough information for now."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"As for the test, you’ve passed.Just as Steve said, your mental resilience is exceptional."

He looked at Asher for a brief moment before adding,

"Even after experiencing one of your nightmares, you remained calm."

Dr. Samuel then turned toward Klein.

Klein immediately understood what he meant.

He then pressed the same button again.

The magic formations and spells that had disappeared earlier immediately reappeared, firmly restraining the Dream Demon once again.

The black mist surrounding the creature was forced back inside its body, and the room once again became completely silent.

Dr. Samuel then looked at Asher and said,"I’m sure you have many questions about why this creature is here when it isn’t supposed to be, along with many others."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"However, you don’t need to know the answers unless I decide to tell you."

He looked directly at Asher.

"And don’t enter any random room."

"You might die."

His tone remained calm, as if he were simply giving an ordinary warning.

He then added,"As for today, you can rest and get familiar with this place."

Asher was about to ask where he was supposed to rest and how exactly he was supposed to get familiar with the place.

However, before he could say anything—

Dr. Samuel turned around.

Without waiting for Asher’s reply, he walked out of the room.

Klein silently followed behind him.

Asher quietly followed after Dr. Samuel and Klein.

After stepping out of Room 49, Dr. Samuel and Klein left without saying anything to him.

A few moments later, one of the nearby Master-rank guards walked up to Asher.

He looked at Asher before saying in a respectful tone,

"Please follow me."

Asher silently nodded.

The guard then led him through several corridors before finally stopping in front of a room.

He took out a key, unlocked the door, and handed the key to Asher.

"This will be your residence from now on."

After saying that, the guard turned around and left, leaving Asher standing in front of his new residence.
