As if the first lie wasn’t good enough, she continued to say, "I didn’t know that they had a fourth brother. Secondly, even if I knew about the so-called fourth brother, I should see some sort of semblance between the dragon and the fourth brother. But I saw nothing remotely similar between them."

She could be speaking the truth, or she could be lying like she usually did. Either way, no one believed her.

Martial Will even scolded her, saying, "You should stop being selfish. Don’t you know that we are all in this together? If we don’t work together, we will fall."

Sword Mastero didn’t say anything since he didn’t have the seniority or power needed to criticize Heavenly Eye. But he did indulge himself with a funny thought.

When he saw Tepid Scholar and Martial Will talking to Heavenly Eye like she was their wayward sister and they were trying to set her straight, he chuckled and thought sarcastically, ’What a beautiful scene of a happy family.’

’We totally look like we don’t hide from each other and have never met face to face in over a thousand years. And it looks like we wouldn’t hesitate to put a knife to each other’s throats as soon as the opportunity shows itself.’

’If I didn’t know any better, I would think we don’t eat each other. But I know better.’

On the surface, the situation looked peaceful among them. But the fact that they hadn’t decided on who to send was still hanging above their heads.

Right now, Martial Will and Tepid Scholar were trying to convince Heavenly Eye to say what she was hiding from them. But Heavenly Eye was being true to herself. Nothing they could say could convince her to willingly expose something she was hiding.

While the Dao Lords of the Martial Body Sect and the Myriad Phenomenon Sect were trying to work something out, Black Chains was silent.

Black Chains was silent because he was focused on the dragon. Ever since he heard that this dragon might be the fourth brother of the powerful trio, he was determined not to miss anything that the dragon was doing. This was to make sure that he didn’t miss any opportunity to grow stronger.

On the surface, he is supposed to be the strongest Dao Lord in the Sea of Worlds. He may really be the strongest Dao Lord, or he actually may not be the strongest. His title as the strongest is not set in stone.

The possibility that he is not the strongest is likely to be true if the other Dao Lords are hiding their strength and only displaying part of the Dao Paths that they have mastered to the public, not every path in their possession.

A lot of time has passed, so it won’t be surprising if one or two of them have comprehended another pathway. Yet, no one has displayed any new pathways in a long time.

Whatever may be true and whatever could be untrue, one thing that is certain is that he didn’t rise to this level of power because of talent. He rose to power by stealing power from others.

Of the five pathways that he is supposed to have, only two of them were initiated by him. Those two are the Enslavement Pathway and the Mind Hunter Pathway. The first one is a Grand Dao, while the last one is a Major Dao.

As for the Death Pathway, the Money Pathway, and the Forging Pathway, they are a Cosmic Dao and two Grand Daos, respectively. They are powerful, but he didn’t initiate them. He stole them from other Dao Lords or Dao Initiates.

In the story of the four brothers, he is the untalented fourth brother. The only difference is that he had been successful in his bid to overcome the hurdle of talent. And right now, the targets he has picked to overcome his difficulty of talent are the dragon and the three talented brothers.

If he can have even one of them, his power will soar. But if he can have all four brothers, no matter what tricks the other Dao Lords are playing and whatever schemes they are plotting by hiding their strength, it will have no effect on him.

Because of this ambition, he had been paying close attention to the dragon. He had also been thinking about what to do to acquire both the dragon and Golden Sun.

His eyes were laser-focused on the dragon, so he saw it reach Golden Sun. Then he saw the dragon subdue Golden Sun and start absorbing the golden Supreme Metac into his body.

This made Black Chains say to the others, "I think you may be wrong. This doesn’t look like he wants to kill Golden Sun. It looks like he wants to assimilate the Luck Supreme Metac."

His words made everyone refocus on the dragon again. Then they saw the Lucky Supreme Metac disappear into the dragon’s body.

When they saw this, Martial Will said, "He really did it. What a mad man!"

Sword Mastero frowned and said, "Has he not learned the lesson that he can just swallow anything just because he has the Devouring Supreme Metac?"

Tepid Scholar sighed and said, "At least, we don’t need to worry about who to kill the dragon. He should explode any moment now."

Black Chains said, "Anyway, I am going. If you want to join me, you can try."

As he spoke, he activated the spirits of the pathways in the Blessed Heaven World. Then he infused his power into them.

He didn’t activate a single pathway like they were talking about earlier. Instead, he activated all five of them. Clearly, he was going all out and taking no chances.

The faces of the other four Dao Lords fell when they saw this. After all, his actions had now made everything more complicated than it needed to be. Because of him, they had to be careful going forward or they could capsize.
