Chapter 309: Chapter 309: Monster Evolution [Part 1]
A cracking sound reached Ulric’s ear, prompting him to look at the cocoons he and the other warriors of the Aslan Tribe were guarding.
The cracks spread on their surfaces. Soon enough, one of them broke before their eyes. From it emerged a monster that the members of the Aslan Tribe had never seen before.
But that was only the beginning. Within seconds, more cocoons began to break. Understanding that something momentous was about to occur, Ulric immediately gave an order.
"Someone wake up our Great Chieftain!" Ulric ordered. "Tell him the Drakes have emerged from the cocoons!"
One of the warriors hurriedly left to inform Leone of what was happening.
Ulric had no idea about the temperament of these new monsters, so he didn’t dare to leave them with his subordinates. His stance showed his readiness to fight in case the drakes caused a commotion.
His gaze landed on the biggest cocoon, which was at the center of the underground cavern.
Cracks had also appeared on Boris’ cocoon. Even though the monster hadn’t emerged from it, Ulric could already tell that something very powerful was about to be born.
Brann came running through the cavern as if he had sensed something, joining Ulric in welcoming the monsters... who would soon become the symbol of the Aslan Tribe.
Meanwhile, outside of Leone’s house...
"Great Chieftain!" The warrior that Ulric had ordered to report to Leone knocked on the door. "The cocoons have begun hatching! Please come and check on the situation!"
"I-I understand." Leone’s reply came from the other side of the door. "Just... give me a few minutes, and I’ll be there. You can go now."
"As you command." The warrior bowed respectfully in front of the door before leaving.
Inside the house, the young man’s body trembled for a few seconds, after which he let out a satisfied sigh.
"I thought my soul was about to leave my body," Leone said as he gently patted Yuni’s head. "Thank you, Yuni. That felt amazing."
Yuni didn’t reply, still busy cleaning him up with her lips. When she was done, she rose from the bed and headed to Leone’s closet to pick some clothes for him.
Once he was fully dressed, Leone planted a kiss on Yuni’s cheek and invited her to eat breakfast together with him once he finished what he had to do.
"Go." Yuni smoothed out the creases on Leone’s clothes before cupping his face. "I’ll follow you later."
Leone nodded and left the house. As soon as he stepped out of it, a black mist merged with his shadow, while Daedalus flew toward the young man’s side.
"You seem to be in a good mood," Daedalus said in a teasing tone. "What’s got you smiling so early in the morning?"
Leone didn’t bother to reply. He knew that if he did, the grimoire would continue to tease him.
It was only natural since he was a healthy young man, and he did have his needs.
Of course, Yuni was more than willing to help him handle them, though it wasn’t just the act itself that he appreciated.
It was the way she cared for him afterward. Her actions made him feel loved, and those precious moments reminded Leone just how lucky he was to have her by his side.
When he finally arrived at his destination, nearly all the cocoons had already hatched.
Drakes of different colors emerged before him, and the first thing Leone did was check their Status Pages.

Aside from those two Drake species, there were also a handful of Ironhide Drakes, which specialized in defense.
’So the Forest Drakes focus more on mobility, the Blood-Crest Drakes focus more on strength, while the Ironhide Drakes focus more on defense,’ Leone thought. ’It’s a good combination.’
Before the forest was burned down to the ground, the Forest Raptors were the main force of the Aslan Tribe.
Truth be told, Leone could restore the forest if he wanted to. But after careful consideration, he decided to let it be.
After all, the Darkmane Tribe had only managed to burn down a portion of the forest during their war. Aside from that, the Forest Drakes could still explore the northern part of the forest, which belonged to the Ravage Tribe.
Then again, since the land had already been cleared out, Leone was thinking of slowly building a city at the base of the mountain.
It was a bold plan. Sure, he could build a city. He had the resources and the power to do so. But who would live there?
Leone’s plan was simple.
He would invite the middle-ranked tribes to live in the city that he was going to build!
Of course, it was a grand undertaking. Plus, there was always a chance that the Grimfang Tribe, the Ironhide Tribe, and the Redmaw Tribe would refuse his invitation.
Regardless of their choice, he would be fine with it.
If the middle-ranked tribes didn’t want to live there, then it could become the home of the Ravage Tribe since they and the Aslan Tribe were already joined at the hips.
Of course, the Orcs had also built their homes inside the mountain. However, they were a race that preferred to be outdoors rather than indoors.
And last but not least, Leone planned to ask Logan if he was willing to talk to the other Orc tribes, as well as the other demi-human races in the Borderlands.
Leone planned to create a grand alliance with them, not caring even if they were from the monster race.
Although the Ravage Tribe was rough around the edges, they had proven themselves as worthwhile allies.
Aside from that, the Kobolds, who were part of the Red-Scale Tribe, had also given them a lot of help when it came to their digging project.
He had already talked to Caius and Titus, asking if they were willing to look for other Kobold tribes in the Borderlands and persuade them to migrate to Grimjaw Mountain.
The two Kobolds were quite excited to receive this mission, and Leone had already given them the Rank 3 Tickets that were exclusive to the Kobold Race.
To Leone’s surprise, the Kobolds also had access to Pteranodon Mounts as well.
With this, they would be able to travel far and wide to look for other Kobolds.
Leone and Daedalus were already chuckling internally. If they could successfully invite those races to live at Grimjaw Mountain, they would finally get more manpower to help them realize their plans.
At that moment, the giant cocoon finally broke apart.
Boris finally emerged, but it no longer looked like a Raptor Sovereign.
No. It was now a Drake Sovereign.
A Rank 6 Monster that would serve as one of the Guardians of the Aslan Tribe.
