Chapter 785: Chapter 785 - 312: New Semester
The troll seemed to take Ron’s shout as a welcome.
Its shoulders dropped, and it opened its big mouth and roared loudly.
Ron could even smell the unbearable stench of the troll’s bad breath.
Before they could react, the troll launched its attack first.
After roaring, the troll began to charge toward the crowd with heavy, powerful strides.
"Impedimenta (Barrier Hurdles)!"
Cedric, having been trained by Harry with a flourish of green fluorescent flickering, was the first to respond, directly casting an obstacle curse at the troll.
The obstacle curse hit the armored troll, causing only a momentary delay in its movement.
This kind of troll was armed with specially made armor by the fairies under Lanlock, possessing strong immunity to magic spells.
Of course, it must be said, this armor is strong but still not immune to the Killing Curse.
But here lies the problem; these students who are still at Hogwarts certainly wouldn’t use such advanced magic as the Killing Curse.
After all, not everyone is Harry, who has the advantage of the Magic Stone and ancient magic, allowing him to use various spells without any emotions.
"Do something!" Cedric shouted back, using the obstacle curse on the troll once again.
Everyone then snapped out of their daze. They weren’t exactly afraid of the troll, but the troll’s massive four-meter size was indeed intimidating, and wearing armor certainly attracted attention.
"Use the Explosive Curse to blast him, Seamus!" Hermione shouted loudly, raising her wand and joining Cedric in casting obstacle spells at the troll, occasionally throwing out two disarming spells.
But the troll didn’t seem to fear the disarming spells. With a swing of its wolf fang club, it blocked the disarming curse easily, posing no threat to the club in its hand whatsoever.
Seamus was also ready with his spell by this time. He had, of course, noticed the troll’s absurd level of magic resistance - as a magical creature, its skin inherently possessed extremely high resistance to spells, and now it was wearing a set of specially crafted armor...
Fortunately, Seamus was also quick-witted. He chose not to blast the troll’s body, but rather the ground in front of it with his spell.
Environmental destruction was still highly effective. Despite the troll’s strong magic resistance, its walnut-sized brain wasn’t quite up to the task.
From its perspective, the small lights shot out by the little people waving sticks didn’t seem to pose any real threat, so it didn’t pay much attention.
However, as it continued moving forward, it stepped into the pit Seamus had blasted out.
Its progress was momentarily stalled, staggering slightly, and almost fell to the ground.
"Now is the time!" Cedric shouted, "Reducto!"
The spell hit the troll on the forehead, causing it to fall backward.
Others followed suit, using their most proficient spells.
Ginny also raised her wand, and after a moment of concentration, aimed at the troll’s head and cast a Reducto.
"Reducto!"
An intense flash of light appeared, hitting the troll’s head with precision.
With a bang, the troll’s head was blasted to pieces by the spell.
The headless body swayed and then collapsed to the ground with a thud.
Seeing the troll fall, everyone couldn’t help but look at Ginny with eyes as if witnessing a miracle.
"Ginny, how did you..." Hermione asked, her eyes shining.
"Looks like Ginny’s future boyfriend should be careful," the twins chuckled, "Look at that, such a powerful Reducto, I really doubt he could last a round against Ginny..."
"If I were to duel with Ginny..." Cedric grimaced, "I would absolutely not dare to use the Iron Armor Spell to withstand Ginny’s Shattering Spell—oh my, that’s just too terrifying... too terrifying..."
Ginny also regained her composure. She knew she had some talent with the Shattering Spell, but she didn’t expect the spell’s power to be so great.
"Is this what it means to be a born master of the Shattering Spell?" Zhang Qiu remarked in astonishment, with a hint of envy, "Clearly very strong..."
"Looks like they’ve won." Mr. Bagman said from the platform, "Let’s see—finally vanquishing the troll was Ginny Weasley, let us congratulate her... her Shattering Spell’s power is truly extraordinary."
"I always said Ginny had considerable talent." Mrs. Weasley applauded nearby.
"Well done! Batter!" Mr. Weasley also stood on the platform, clapping and cheering.
Mr. Bagman waited for a while, then spoke again, "Alright, you’ve defeated the first enemy, but up next... a stronger foe awaits you... Of course, it’s nothing new, you will face not one, but two trolls!"
Ron grimaced.
"I really wish we could rest for a while, but it seems like a luxury now," he said, shrugging, "but it’s definitely better than spiders."
"That’s a fact," Cedric panted, "If it were eight-eyed giant spiders, I’d rather turn around and leave now—considering this level of difficulty, we’d definitely face hordes of eight-eyed giant spiders."
Ron looked up, and just imagining the scene made him feel a bit loveless.
"So tired, just destroy it all," he sighed, "I really hope something like this never happens in my lifetime."
A fulfilling holiday always passes quickly, though these students in the Dueling House did not quite think so.
During the summer trials, they faced, among others, trolls, fire dragons, poisonous horned beasts, poisonous baggy leopards, thunderbirds, and other magical creatures.
