Chapter 377: Chapter 377 - 353: Special Operations Team
The sight made Fang Chenyi jump back two steps in fright. At the same time, his hand reflexively gripped the rifle slung over his back.
A huge snake, as thick as a bowl, was lying silently on the ground before him.
Fang Chenyi had always been terrified of snakes. He’d been so relieved back in the jungle when he saw that Vajra could handle them.
But now, that ape had run off somewhere.
After backing away a couple more steps, he quickly shouldered his rifle and aimed at the snake’s head. With a gun in his hands, Fang Chenyi’s anxiety eased slightly.
’If I can just blow its head off with one shot, I can get away quickly and avoid its attack.’
However, that was just his plan. When he actually aimed his rifle at the huge snake’s head, he was stunned to find that its head was already a bloody, mangled mess.
It looked as if it had been smashed to a pulp.
Just as he was reeling from the shock, Vajra’s figure emerged from the bushes behind him.
Upon seeing Fang Chenyi, it immediately let out a cry and beat its chest.
"Holy shit, you brought this thing here?"
Seeing Vajra, Fang Chenyi finally understood what had happened. So, the ape had caught it.
After Fang Chenyi spoke, Vajra hooted and nodded. It then pointed at the large snake on the ground, and then at the nearby bonfire.
The meaning was self-evident: it wanted Fang Chenyi to roast and eat the thing.
Fang Chenyi glanced at the massive snake on the ground and felt a wave of nausea. There was no way he could possibly roast and eat that thing.
"Go on, get it out of here! Just looking at it makes me sick. And I’m telling you, Vajra, you’re not allowed to catch these things to eat anymore!"
Hearing this, a wronged expression appeared on Vajra’s face. It had been waiting for praise from Fang Chenyi for catching food, but instead of praise, it got a scolding.
The ape immediately started sulking like a petulant child.
No matter what Fang Chenyi said to get it to move the big snake, the ape wouldn’t budge.
Left with no choice, Fang Chenyi had to take out a piece of roasted camel meat. Only then did the ape, drooling, grab the big snake by its tail and drag it into the nearby woods.
It quickly ran back, reaching for the roasted meat in Fang Chenyi’s hand.
Seeing this, Fang Chenyi immediately told it to go wash its hands by the sea, or it wouldn’t get any meat.
Though reluctant, Vajra had no choice but to run toward the sea. With its speed, running to the shore and back would take three to five minutes at most.
So, Fang Chenyi didn’t put the meat away. He just placed it next to the bonfire and sat down himself.
But he had just sat down when a series of cries and roars erupted from the nearby shore, accompanied by the SPLOOSH, SPLOOSH of rocks hitting the water.
’Holy shit, don’t tell me the great whites are back. That Vajra holds a fucking grudge.’
He jumped to his feet, grabbed the roasted meat, and ran toward the shore. Vajra throwing rocks wasn’t a huge deal; the sharks were quite agile in the water. What he feared was that the ape would get some crazy idea and go into the water itself. Then, no matter how powerful Vajra was, it would be no match for a school of sharks.
Fortunately, when Fang Chenyi reached the shore, he only saw Vajra relentlessly throwing rocks into the sea. In the moonlight, he could see groups of shark fins slicing through the relatively calm water. And in their midst were a dozen or so dolphins, leaping from the surface in a panic.
Clearly, the sharks had herded these dolphins here.
However, the number of sharks seemed limited. Judging by the number of leaping figures, there were only five or six dolphins, which meant it took about five sharks to control a single dolphin.
But this was enough to make Fang Chenyi’s heart leap with joy. With these dolphins, he finally had a chance to leave this place.
Without further ado, he called over the furious Vajra, tossed it the roasted meat he had prepared for it, and then hurried to the water’s edge.
He slapped his hand against the surface of the water repeatedly, shouting for the great whites to drive the dolphins closer to the shore.
Receiving Fang Chenyi’s command, the school of sharks immediately began to tighten their encirclement. Soon, the dolphins were within range for Fang Chenyi to use his Celestial Gods.
One, then a second. He rested. Another one, then a second. He rested again.
Fortunately, there were only six dolphins this time. It took Fang Chenyi just an hour to finish brainwashing all of them.
He blew a whistle across the surface of the sea, and all the dolphins immediately gathered.
He had to admit, dolphins were far more intelligent than sharks.
When Fang Chenyi had given commands to the sharks before, he had to use gestures along with words, and even then, the sharks sometimes didn’t quite understand. But the dolphins were completely different.
They were incredibly intelligent creatures. After being brainwashed by Celestial Gods, they could instantly understand and comprehend anything Fang Chenyi said.
After giving the dolphins some instructions, he sent them off to find their companions and bring them all back.
And so, Fang Chenyi began the nonstop work of brainwashing.
The uses of Celestial Gods he had been saving for his subordinates were now being spent one after another on these creatures.
And the dolphins did not disappoint. Over the next two days, they brought back nearly a hundred of their companions for Fang Chenyi, a few at a time.
It wasn’t just the dolphins; the great white sharks also continued to search for their own kind. In two days, their numbers also reached one hundred.
However, those two days were arguably the most grueling for Fang Chenyi. Repeatedly using Celestial Gods left his mind drained time and time again. Eventually, the guy just couldn’t take it anymore.
’To hell with this,’ he thought. ’This is enough. If I keep brainwashing them, I won’t even need them to find a ship, because I’ll be dead myself.’
Looking at the dense masses of great white sharks and dolphins separated into two camps on the sea before him, Fang Chenyi waved his hand grandly. Every dolphin, accompanied by a great white shark as a guard, began to disperse in all directions to search for ships!
As Fang Chenyi’s order was given, the two groups of creatures that should have been natural enemies began to quickly form pairs, cooperating as they swam swiftly off in all directions.
After all the dolphins and great white sharks had departed, boundless hope rose in Fang Chenyi’s heart.
Although he had enough supplies to survive on the island for another month or so, he truly didn’t want to stay for a second longer.
