Chapter 376: Chapter 376 - 352: A Big Scare
SMACK!
The ape’s strength was nothing to scoff at—he could rip a sapling as thick as a bowl clean out of the ground. That alone showed how powerful he was.
This slap landed on the great white shark’s head, instantly knocking it back into the water. Luckily, it all happened so suddenly that Vajra couldn’t use his full strength. Otherwise, that one blow might have actually killed the great white shark!
Even so, the slap was enough to send the great white shark tumbling over in the seawater.
When Vajra saw that one slap hadn’t killed the creature, his temper flared. ’How dare this big fish bite me? Unacceptable!’ He scrambled to his feet and prepared to grab a rock to hurl at the great white shark.
The two creatures moved far too quickly. By the time Fang Chenyi reacted, Vajra was already hoisting a large rock, ready to hurl it at the great white shark in the sea.
Fang Chenyi hurriedly stopped him and yelled at the great white shark to hurry up and start its search.
Fortunately, the great white shark wasn’t very bright, nor did it hold a grudge like Vajra. Upon hearing Fang Chenyi’s command, it immediately flicked its tail and swam off toward the depths of the ocean.
Vajra, on the other hand, watched the big shark swim away, pointing a finger at it and howling furiously.
He still hadn’t let go of the large rock in his hand. If Fang Chenyi hadn’t been holding him back, he probably would have hurled it at the great white shark long ago.
"Alright, alright, he’s one of us now. Don’t be so impulsive. That guy isn’t very bright; why are you stooping to his level? Come on, come on, let’s get you some meat first!"
As he spoke, Fang Chenyi reached out and pulled out the woven bag. He then took out the roast camel from inside. The camel was already missing its legs, so Fang Chenyi used his Xiaodao and began to carve off a large slab of meat, ribs and all, handing it to Vajra.
Sure enough, the moment he saw the food, the ape tossed the large rock aside, took the meat, and began to eat with a look of pure joy on his face.
He had to admit, the great white shark was incredibly efficient. In just over an hour, it returned, leading a large school of other great whites.
Standing on the shore and looking at the dense cluster of shark fins, Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but feel his skin crawl.
’If I fell into the sea right now, I’d be devoured in an instant, not even leaving any bones behind.’
Vajra, at his side, also saw the dense forest of shark fins on the sea’s surface, but he was clearly one of those foolhardy types.
He tossed aside the camel bone he was chewing on, then got up and once again picked up a large rock from the ground.
It took another round of soothing from Fang Chenyi to finally calm the ape down. Only then did he turn his gaze to the roughly thirty great white sharks in the water.
Thirty-odd great white sharks seemed like a lot at the moment, but if he were to let them loose in the vast ocean to search for ships, it would be a drop in the bucket.
’Of course, you can’t get fat from one bite,’ he thought. ’I’ll take it one step at a time. I’m sure it won’t be long before I have a massive ocean army at my command.’
The great white shark that Fang Chenyi had brainwashed earlier quickly swam up to him, wagging its tail as if reporting for duty.
Seeing this, Fang Chenyi nodded in satisfaction and then began his work.
He didn’t know how the sharks communicated, but at Fang Chenyi’s request, the first great white actually had them separate and swim to the shore one by one.
However, these new great whites were not as docile as the first one. They swam back and forth in front of Fang Chenyi, appearing somewhat agitated.
But no matter how restless they were, under Fang Chenyi’s Celestial Gods, they quickly became obedient.
One, then two.
After doing two in a row, Fang Chenyi’s head suddenly swam, and he immediately grabbed a piece of the camel meat he’d prepared beforehand and stuffed it into his mouth. After resting for five or six minutes, he got back to work.
And so it went: brainwash two sharks, eat some meat, rest for about ten minutes. Time passed bit by bit, and after nearly three hours, all thirty-two great white sharks on the sea’s surface had been completely converted by Fang Chenyi.
By this point, however, Fang Chenyi was sitting on the shore, his face pale from exhaustion.
He took a deep breath, then managed to summon enough strength to put his hand in the sea and splash the water. He then loudly called for all the sharks to come over.
Instantly, all thirty-three great white sharks gathered at the shore, and Fang Chenyi began to issue a command:
"All of you, go find pods of dolphins, then drive them all here to me."
As the command was given, the great white sharks instantly turned and swam swiftly toward the depths of the ocean.
As for the exhausted Fang Chenyi, he simply rolled over, lay down on a rock, closed his eyes, and drifted off to sleep.
PITTER-PATTER~
Fang Chenyi felt as if he had only just fallen asleep when a torrential downpour began to fall from the sky.
"Damn it, why does it have to rain every single day!"
With no other choice, he rolled over and sat up. He called out to Vajra, who was at the seaside endlessly tossing stones into the water, and they both ran toward the small cave he had found earlier.
Fortunately, the cave wasn’t far. Plus, after days of living in the mountains and forests, Fang Chenyi had grown accustomed to traversing mountain paths. They reached the outside of the cave in just five or six minutes.
Looking at the cave entrance, which was blocked off save for a single small hole, Fang Chenyi glanced at Vajra’s massive frame and shook his head helplessly.
Luckily, the ape was strong enough. Without waiting for Fang Chenyi’s command, he started moving the rocks himself.
The large rocks that Fang Chenyi had struggled to move into place were nothing to Vajra. With seemingly little effort, the ape simply swatted the boulders aside.
Once the path was clear, Fang Chenyi immediately led Vajra into the cave.
Seeing that his tent was still inside the cave, Fang Chenyi crawled right in and went back to sleep. He couldn’t help it; using Celestial Gods earlier had been utterly exhausting.
The rain truly lasted for quite a long time, only letting up after a full half an hour.
But Fang Chenyi didn’t wake up; he continued to sleep. By the time he finally awoke, it was already dark.
He sat up but didn’t see any sign of Vajra, so he quickly went out of the cave.
But there was no sign of Vajra outside the cave either.
He shook his head helplessly, wondering where the ape could have run off to.
He took out the dry branches he had prepared earlier from the cave and lit a bonfire. Then he sat down beside it, took out his woven bag, and prepared to find something to fill his stomach.
Just as he was taking out the woven bag, he heard a rustling sound from behind. Though he figured it was probably Vajra, Fang Chenyi still turned around quickly to look. On this deserted island, it was always better to be cautious.
THUD!
He had just turned his head when a black shadow flashed before him. It was followed by a heavy thud as a massive object fell right in front of him.
He instinctively glanced down, and a layer of cold sweat instantly broke out on his back. There on the ground before him, lay...
