Chapter 374: Chapter 374 - 350: I’ve Thought of a Way
"Holy shit! You scared the crap out of me!"
Looking at the gorilla, who was grinning from ear to ear and chuckling, Fang Chenyi rolled his eyes in annoyance.
It was mainly because the creature was just so ugly. Anyone would be startled if the first thing they saw upon waking was its massive face.
Seeing that the sky had already brightened, Fang Chenyi decided against going back to sleep.
He looked up and sized up the gorilla again. The light had been limited last night; even with a flashlight, he hadn’t gotten a good look at the creature.
Now, getting a look at it in the sunlight, Fang Chenyi was left speechless.
It wasn’t anything else—the creature was just absolutely filthy...
OOH! OOH! OOH!
Seeing its master staring, the gorilla let out a couple of hoots, then patted its stomach to show that it was hungry.
Annoyed, Fang Chenyi once again took the roasted camel out of the red woven bag, cut off the last remaining leg, and handed it to the creature.
The big guy immediately took it with a grin and began to gnaw on it.
Fang Chenyi, however, didn’t eat. It wasn’t that he wasn’t hungry; his mind was just preoccupied with figuring out when he’d be able to go home.
’Should I build a wooden raft?’
’That’s obviously not realistic. Out on the open ocean, it’s not just rafts—even fishing boats are reported lost from time to time.’
’Besides, even if I managed to avoid storms on a raft, I don’t even know where I am.’
’In other words, I have no idea which direction to travel.’
"Sigh! When will this ever end..."
OOH OOH~
While Fang Chenyi was moping, the gorilla finished its roasted camel leg and ran up to him, its face slick with grease.
Seemingly sensing its master was in a bad mood, the creature got Fang Chenyi’s attention and then simply started dragging him away at a run.
Fang Chenyi was taken aback, but the creature’s strength was so immense that he couldn’t break free.
Left with no choice, he could only run along with the creature through the jungle.
Fortunately, the creature didn’t run far, only pulling Fang Chenyi to the base of the small waterfall.
Once he stopped, Fang Chenyi noticed piles of fist-sized stones on the ground. He found it strange; they didn’t look like they had formed there naturally, but rather seemed to have been deliberately stacked.
"Did you bring all these here?"
He pointed at the stones on the ground and turned to ask the gorilla.
The gorilla nodded, then pointed to the pool below and hooted twice. Immediately after, it snatched two stones from the ground and hurled them at the fish swimming in the water.
It was only after seeing this that Fang Chenyi noticed the bottom of the crystal-clear pool was already densely covered with countless small stones.
"You threw all of these in here?"
The gorilla nodded vigorously, then proudly puffed out its chest and hooted twice.
The gorilla had indeed thrown all those stones in. As for the reason, it was simple: the creature held a grudge.
When it was young, it had nearly drowned in the pool while trying to catch fish. Ever since, it had held a grudge against them. So, whenever it was in a bad mood, it would come here and throw rocks at the fish.
Seeing that its master seemed to be in a bad mood, it had brought him along to smash fish together.
Through the gorilla’s mix of gestures and pantomime, Fang Chenyi finally understood the big guy’s intentions.
He shook his head in resignation, then picked up a stone himself and hurled it violently at the fish in the water.
As he continued throwing stones, Fang Chenyi’s mood gradually began to settle. At the same time, an idea struck him, and his eyes lit up.
’Fish! Of course!’
’I can’t swim in the ocean or live in the sea, but fish can!’
’I can’t find Qi Xiaotian and the others, but maybe fish can!’
Fang Chenyi recalled reading a report once that a shark could swim at around seventy kilometers per hour. That was much faster than a cruise ship!
’That wasn’t even the main point. The most important thing was the sheer number of fish in the ocean!’
’Don’t I have Celestial Gods, the power to alter the minds of others? I can start modifying the minds of sharks and have them search for ships.’
’Yes, just find a ship. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Qi Xiaotian’s group. As long as I can find any ship, I have a chance of survival!’
’Although, finding Qi Xiaotian’s group directly would be for the best.’
With a plan in mind, Fang Chenyi immediately felt his spirits soar.
But when he turned and saw the completely filthy gorilla, he shook his head again. ’This guy is just too disgusting. Well, I’ve got time. A few more hours won’t make a difference.’
And so, Fang Chenyi called the gorilla over to the edge of the pool.
He beckoned to the creature. "Come on, look how filthy you are. Let’s get you cleaned up."
But to his surprise, upon hearing his words, the creature immediately scrambled back several steps, keeping its distance from the pool.
Seeing this, Fang Chenyi felt a sense of helplessness. ’Looks like he’s terrified of water.’ But that wasn’t a problem. He reached into the woven bag and pulled out a large bucket, a bottle of shampoo, and a big brush meant for washing cars.
He went to the water’s edge, filled the bucket, walked up to the gorilla, and dumped it over him.
Doused with the cold water, the gorilla immediately let out a couple of protesting hoots.
But Fang Chenyi paid it no mind, going at it bucket after bucket. Whenever the gorilla tried to run, Fang Chenyi would issue a threat: if it ran off, there would be no more roasted camel meat, ever.
Once the big guy was thoroughly soaked, Fang Chenyi poured shampoo all over its body. Then, rolling up his sleeves, he picked up the big brush and started scrubbing with all his might.
At first, the gorilla resisted and struggled, but after a while, it seemed to discover how good the brush felt. The rascal actually started whistling contentedly while enjoying the scrub-down.
After three hours, one whole bottle of shampoo, and one completely ruined brush, Fang Chenyi had finally managed to scrub the big fellow clean from head to toe.
After its bath, the creature became incredibly excited. In a fit of glee, it did a big roll on the ground, and its perfectly clean fur was instantly covered in grass and dirt.
There was nothing Fang Chenyi could do about it. He just found a shallower part of the pool and jumped in for a refreshing cold bath of his own.
After his bath, Fang Chenyi felt completely refreshed.
