The ceaseless roars echoing around him made Fang Chenyi tighten his grip on his gun.

As a precaution, Fang Chenyi also took a handgun from the woven bag, engaged the safety, and tucked it inside his clothes.

Time ticked by. By the time evening arrived, Fang Chenyi still hadn’t seen a single wild animal.

He had only managed a quick bite of bread when he first arrived in the morning. At noon, afraid of an attack, he had also just made do with a mouthful.

Now that it was evening, Fang Chenyi felt his energy would fail if he didn’t eat something more nutritious.

What’s more, as night fell, Fang Chenyi felt it getting colder and colder.

Unlike the scorching sun at noon, he felt the temperature had now dropped to around eleven or twelve degrees Celsius at most.

And that was just now. He had no idea how much colder it would get in the dead of night.

He had a dozen or so articles of clothing in the woven bag, but unfortunately, the thickest among them were just his suits.

Just in case, Fang Chenyi slung the rifle he was holding onto his back and began gathering wood at the edge of the forest.

Before long, a bonfire was crackling to life beside his small tent.

Meanwhile, out on the water, a black fin was circling incessantly along the coastline.

He walked over and glanced at the great white shark, waving for it to go on its way. But the shark didn’t leave; it just kept circling the beach.

’Maybe this guy can’t understand me again,’ he thought. After trying a few more times, Fang Chenyi decided to just ignore it.

He turned and sat by the bonfire, gazing up at the star-filled sky. Fang Chenyi realized this moment was actually quite nice. The ocean, the island, the bonfire, the starry night... it had a charm all its own.

He reached into the woven bag and rummaged around for a moment. The next instant, a massive camel, still sizzling and dripping with fat, suddenly appeared beside the bonfire!

’Heh, I guess you could call this foresight.’

Shaking his head with a wry smile, he deftly wielded a small knife, carving off a large chunk of camel meat.

After carving off a hefty, two-pound chunk of meat, Fang Chenyi put the rest of the camel away.

That way, the rest wouldn’t get cold and become less tasty.

After he finished eating, Fang Chenyi found there was nothing left to do.

Even though there was nothing to do, he didn’t dare to sleep. The roars he’d heard during the day still had him on edge.

Leaning inside his tent, he spent the night in a drowsy, half-awake state.

To his relief, no creatures appeared. But to his frustration, it rained again in the middle of the night, dousing his bonfire and once again letting a considerable amount of water into his tent.

After making it through the night, Fang Chenyi began considering finding a better location first thing in the morning.

This spot was great for sheltering from the wind and rain, but getting a "bath" every day was becoming unbearable!

No sooner said than done. His main task was to wait for rescue, but rather than just sit around, he figured he might as well find a proper place to stay.

He changed into a clean Louis Vuitton suit, put on a pair of expensive leather shoes worth tens of thousands, and, cradling an assault rifle, headed into the dense forest before him.

He wasn’t planning on exploring the island, just finding a suitable place to camp nearby.

His expensive leather shoes crunched over dead branches and rotting leaves, and his suit, worth a small fortune, received an "enthusiastic greeting" from the branches, getting snagged and scratched all over.

Even though Fang Chenyi had plenty of Louis Vuitton back home, his heart still ached to see the damage. But he had no choice. The only outfits in his woven bag were these expensive suits and leather shoes.

And this was one of his cheaper outfits. He still had a limited-edition suit worth over five million in his bag.

As he forged deeper into the dense forest, he continuously used the bayonet on the end of his rifle to clear a path.

As the saying goes, hard work pays off. A little after twelve noon, Fang Chenyi finally found a good, sheltered spot.

To his surprise, he discovered a natural cave halfway up the mountain.

The cave wasn’t very deep, only about five meters, but it was undoubtedly the best place he could find for now. The only frustrating part was its height. The entrance was the lowest point, only about a meter high, though it was a little better inside, reaching about one and a half meters.

Of course, despite its shortcomings, he was still quite satisfied. What pleased him most was its location on the mountainside. It was in an open area, and just by stepping outside the entrance, he had a clear view of the distant sea.

Fang Chenyi had tossed the tent into the woven bag earlier, so now he simply took it out and began setting it up inside the cave.

The cave was relatively clean; aside from a thick layer of dead leaves that had been blown in by the wind, there was nothing else inside.

Once the tent was set up, Fang Chenyi nodded in satisfaction.

He crawled into the tent and lay down. He had to admit, sleeping on this thick pile of leaves was even more comfortable than a Simmons mattress!
