Chapter 1964: Chapter 1964: All Sides Make Their Preparations (III)

“Li Hao...” the Dragon master said slowly. “A lot of trouble might result if we kill him!”

For example, trouble from Skyward!

Skyward’s powerhouses were planning on returning to the world. If the chaos beasts killed Li Hao, would that plan still be viable? The Skyward master himself might not be able to return, but had he really left no contingency plans? Could he really not stop them from killing the young man?

A cultivator of time might be very important to the Skyward master.

“Just follow my commands,” Long Zhan said calmly. “There’s no need to talk about anything else!”

“Understood!” As much as Feng Yan seethed, she unequivocally trusted the Dragon master. Since her father has said so, then she had no other opinions. Li Hao could be permitted to live a few days more!

It would be hard for him to enter eighth rank. And to surpass the Dragon master?

He could keep hoping!

......

Various factions in the chaos made various schemes.

In the east.

There were other eighth rank worlds revolving around the world of Arctic Frost. They’d been forced to ally together due to the threat from New Martial and Silver Moon.

The eighth layer.

Fifteen eighth ranks were present on this day. There were three eighth ranks from Arctic Frost. The world master was naturally in the lead.

The Arctic Frost master pulled a long face as he was rather dejected. Fifteen eighth ranks would be invincible anywhere else, but... he was well aware that apart from his eighth ranks, the remaining twelve all had... complicated backgrounds.

They might be from the three overlords, or they could be independent powerhouses. They might even be Long Zhan’s allies. As for whether or not there were spies from New Martial or Silver Moon, that possibility was low since it hadn’t been that long after the two’s rise.

Such a complex situation gave the premier Arctic Frost exalted emperor a headache.

Representatives had also come from the three overlords. They were here with just one message—you can resolve the mess in the east yourself, we won’t get involved. But it’s best if you can eliminate the cancerous tumors that are New Martial and Silver Moon. We also support Arctic Frost in becoming the eastern overlord!

That was so much easier said than done.

“Li Hao of Silver Moon wishes to work with the alliance of mid worlds and craft Allheaven Hall,” said the Arctic Frost master after a moment of silence. “Have any of you heard about this?”

“He’s got quite the appetite and ambition!” someone sneered from below. “But... I don’t think his chances of success are high. Who will just sit by and ignore this happening? Not to mention, while he is terrifying in covering the eastern region, what about the south, north, and west?

“It’d be one thing if he hadn’t exposed himself, but his trump cards are known to the chaos universe. In my view, he’s just courting death!”

Even if we don’t kill him, the other three overlords won’t just sit by!

He’s digging away at their foundations!

You created an Allheaven Hall to gather a ton of exalted emperors for them to exchange dao. That’s a threat to the sovereigns of the chaos, no matter if their cultivation improves or not!

Who should they kill, if not you?

You are only a seventh rank with three newly risen eighth ranks under your banner, but you dare challenge the authority of the entire chaos. You’re really sick of living, aren’t you??

“The three regions have certain sentiments in mind,” said the Arctic Frost master after some silence. “Their meaning is very clear as well. We are the masters of the east! We have fifteen eighth ranks among us and are fully united in one alliance. We are powerful without rival, so they hope that we can stop New Martial!”

Fifteen eighth ranks... but their only request was to stop New Martial. That was gravely downplaying what the eastern alliance could accomplish. New Martial only had four eighth ranks, yet Arctic Frost spoke of stopping, not eliminating.

To be frank, elimination was very difficult to do. It would require everyone to act together, but was the group in front of them truly willing to put their lives on the line?

The Arctic Frost master knew full well just how loosely tied to each other the alliance was. There was indeed more hope for them to succeed in simply stopping the enemy.

“We must be of one heart,” someone said. “We have enough people to eliminate both New Martial and Silver Moon, not just to stop one of them!”

In other words, they would have no issues stopping New Martial even if they didn’t work together that well.

“New Martial and Silver Moon are incredibly arrogant. Fellow Daoist Arctic Frost, I think we have a duty to excise this tumor from the chaos! Since the other three regions have agreed to help, then we naturally have no opinions otherwise!”

“Correct, I agree as well!”

“They pose too great a threat!”

“......” Various exalted emperors expressed their support. Arctic Frost couldn’t determine who was an overlord plant and who was truly afraid. Everyone was speaking loudly in favor of this plan.

“Since there are no opinions otherwise, we will have one goal in mind when Allheaven Hall is formed a month later.” Arctic Frost took a deep breath. “We will stop New Martial from rescuing Silver Moon. We may not be able to eliminate them, but with fifteen eighth ranks, we should be able to bog down New Martial four against one. There’s no issue with that, right?”

Nods rose and fell through the group. That was very safe! Four against one would mean that even New Martial’s strongest—the Human King—would have difficulties against them. What was the issue then?

“I’m concerned about Long Zhan joining the field!” one person raised.

“That’s valid,” Arctic Frost nodded. “But even if he does, he might not do so to help New Martial. But anything’s possible, so we’ll set some eyes on the four regions. If the chaos beasts emerge from the four regions...

“We’ll take all of them on together!” Arctic Frost set his jaw.

Despite his words, he was still wary. Long Zhan was too strong.

Everyone nodded again, each with their own thoughts in mind. They were most likely just going to be helpers. They weren’t willing to be the main battle force. But if it was mobbing their opponents and delaying for time, that was fine!

And what was the alliance of mid worlds good for?

They only had a few seventh ranks!

Some of their members were even people from the exalted emperors present! There was nothing to fear there. The alliance could be safely ignored.

......

On this day, all sides came to a decision. The shitstirrers must be removed!

Whether it was the Human King or Li Hao, that was what these people were. They needed to be gone!

......

The Ninth City of the alliance of mid worlds.

Seventh ranks had gathered from all sides. There were Myriad Changes, Wan Qiu, and a few other seventh ranks. There were even peak sixth ranks.

One of the seventh ranks looked on unpleasantly, “In my opinion... it’s best if we just watch from the sidelines and wait until after the fact...”

“After the fact?” rumbled Myriad Changes. “If this works and you stayed out of it, do you think this Exalted Hao Moon Emperor will share anything with us, even as nice as he is?”

“But we can’t just go to our deaths, can we?” frowned the seventh rank. “I’ve received some word of certain plans, Myriad Changes. We... better stay out of it this time. I didn’t think it would work at first or that the scale would be this big. I thought then that even having something like this on a small scale would be nice, and that you could reach eighth rank with it...”

But now the Silver Moon king had truly covered all of the eastern region with his enterprise! That was terrifying!

That would certainly draw the ire of the rest of the chaos!

The Silver Moon king was so cocky and high profile. It made the rest of the alliance very worried. Everyone was afraid of death, particularly when they reached seventh rank!

“We snatch riches and fortune from the jaws of danger,” Myriad Changes responded aloofly. “I don’t care what the rest of you guys want to do. This is my chance to make it to eighth rank! I’ve been stuck at seventh rank for far too long. The exchange of a myriad emperors might be the chance that I’ve been waiting for.

“It even represents hope for me to reach ninth rank! I’m not going to give it up. I don’t care about the rest of you guys and don’t hope for you guys to accompany me to death. But I have invested too much for Allheaven Hall. It’s taken everything I own.

“So if this fails... my dream of eighth rank will be no more, much less ninth rank. Hence, I will kill whoever stands in my way!”

Normally a noncommittal sort of person, he blazed with angry determination today. Killing intent filled his eyes.

He ground his teeth as he looked at the other exalted emperors and said coldly, “I don’t care whether you make a move or not! But whoever dares act out of line or commit sabotage... I can kill you even if I do not measure up to those eighth ranks!”

“That’s too much, Fellow Daoist Myriad Changes. Of course we will weather all challenges together...”

Myriad Changes didn’t make a sound. Do you really think I don’t know?

Some of you guys are plants from the other regions. Your identity is known! We’re all powerhouses here, don’t treat anyone as a fool!

He’d truly made up his mind. He would kill whoever dared sever his dao, no matter the price he paid.

As for whether or not Li Hao could stand against the onslaught... that he didn’t know. The danger was great, but the arrow was nocked to the bow. It had to be loosed!

There was no way back now.

......

The situation that all of the other exalted emperors had read clearly was equally accessible to Silver Moon. The masters of the entrances would certainly be having second thoughts. Even if they didn’t fully understand the situation at first, as the atmosphere in the chaos grew taut, that dampened the enthusiasm of any exalted emperor.

Thankfully, it was just a meeting of the minds and not the primary bodies. If it was the primary bodies, then perhaps half of the attendees would refuse to come. That was too dangerous. But if it was just the mind, then the destruction of some mental force in return for watching a fight between large numbers of high ranks...

That was worth it.

So those who’d said they would come would still come. Everyone shared the thought that if worst came to worst, losing some mental force was a worthwhile trade for broadening their horizons.

Apprehension, anxiety, woefulness, and a variety of emotions filtered through the chaos. People wanted Li Hao to succeed, but also felt that the Silver Moon king wouldn’t possibly succeed.

They wished for more chances to be available to mid and low ranks. This would bequeath a massive platform to all exalted emperors in the chaos. It was such a rare opportunity, a golden age that they’d never witnessed before!

But how were three eighth ranks supposed to stand against everyone?
