Chapter 1957: Chapter 1957: Fortune Cat (II)
The daos of the future seemed to be ordered to begin with and possess a spirit. Why was that?
Is it because of the river I created?
If it’s because of the false chaos that I established... then doesn’t that mean that I infused the worlds with countless souls??
But that’s not the case!
Li Hao lowered his head and looked at the endless void. No way! How would I ever do that?? I wouldn’t do that even if I really failed!
It doesn’t seem to be a big deal to integrate a human soul into the great dao, but... this is a demonic dao! This really would plunge me into depravity!
“The limit of supernatural characters... incorporating the aura into them... and the aura into dao stars... With the dao stars as dao... Does this mean that Silver Moon citizens will turn themselves into dao at the peak of their cultivation?”
Connate dao bodies!
Li Hao’s eyes widened. Silver Moon citizens were connate dao bodies and naturally possessed meridians of great dao. Would they become great dao itself at the peak of their accomplishments?
Would they gradually be eroded by the great dao?
Silver Moon citizens, connate bodies, time and a myriad daos...
The dao universe... time as the core of the universe...
Li Hao’s thoughts flew rapidly. A new world would be born after Silver Moon and the star of time departed. That meant to say that the star of time would produce a world of order in the future. Did that order start now, from Silver Moon?
The young man was having issues corralling his ideas.
Were those of Silver Moon born for the purpose of creating order? Were their fates sealed?
No! Nothing was ever set in stone!
Li Hao shut his eyes and sank into contemplation. Too many notions came to mind. If Silver Moon citizens really did incorporate their auras into the great dao at the peak of cultivation, treating that as a continued form of training... Was that a demonic dao, or was that the true way?
Humans will have turned themselves into the great dao! Was this the proper way at the end of the day? Could they disengage themselves from the great dao if they wished it?
“Seizing dao and placing it into the body, collecting all daos as one!” Li Hao murmured.
One dao, one person. If I become the great dao, then the great dao is me. What if I transform dao into orderly rules, then devour the great dao again?
I’ll transform back into a human!
If I break the dao apart, but leave some of it behind... Will it regenerate from what is left behind?
It will, won’t it?
If that’s the case... then that would be fine. It would just be a temporary change in form. The dao enters my body as I cultivate it!
His tight expression relaxed and Li Hao thought back to the person earlier. The white ball that he’d pummeled into pieces had returned to its original form after swallowing dao. That meant this type of form conversion was possible.
They hadn’t become a slave to dao after assimilating with it.
Maybe I’m getting off on a tangent here.
Li Hao had approached it from the angle of turning humans into slaves that facilitated his cultivation. But what if they could return to who they were after devouring dao?
Incorporating the dao within the body!
Yes, that was a more accurate depiction. It was similar to planting trees. Once the great dao developed and the tree was chopped down, the great dao would be able to regenerate from the roots.
“Incorporating the dao within the body... is a similar notion to the current idea of cultivating within a dao universe and ultimately leaving it. This is just a more thorough way of doing so and turning one’s own body into dao!”
Li Hao stroked his chin. There were certainly pros and cons to this course of action. He’d never tried it himself. While he’d integrated himself with the river of dao before, that was just the river. He’d never fully become part of dao.
“Hmm... wait, why do I think of integrating Southern Fist and not teacher? And why not separate ourselves into one thousand parts and become part of dao?
“The supreme has thousands of replicas. If each of them becomes one dao, doesn’t that bring order out of dao as well?” Li Hao raised a brow.
Supreme Zhang had many replicas. If each of them became part of one dao, would that count as bequeathing a soul to the great dao?
The supreme’s book of dao showed hints of doing so, but it wasn’t fully part of the great dao yet. It was just his replicas, and replicas possessed only a portion of spirit. The bulk of spirit still lay with the primary body.
The Ash Emperor had been born within a dao universe. Didn’t that mean that the Ash Emperor was a dao spirit born of the New Martial dao universe? That made it similar to the white fur ball seen in the river earlier!
Li Hao processed many possibilities. Prior to his departure from Silver Moon, he’d tried to have everyone become part of the great dao and feed him strength that way. It’d only been a temporary addition then, a partial kind of bestowing spirit to the great dao.
The young man connected dots that he hadn’t paid attention to before, thinking back to the dao rules of the future. A complete picture began to take shape in his mind.
If that person from the future came from his false chaos and the daos within that chaos were ordered, that meant Li Hao might have personally organized great dao before and melded his soul with it. He’d become the spirit of the great dao!
And... did he ultimately swallow it?
“Does the Human King’s internal world count as devouring dao?”
With his cultivation of the self, was that a type of assimilating dao within the body?
The Skyward master had taken all of the energy and dao strength within his dao universe, clearing it out. Was that another example of integrating dao internally?
Perhaps they all counted!
The chaos itself proceeded toward order. The strength of order removed impurities.
Li Hao had some clues now.
“Don’t send this cat over there next time!” An annoyed Number Two suddenly popped into view. “Big Cat grabbed me and insisted on sharing fish...”
It didn’t like to eat fish!
Big Cat didn’t care what it ate and was also extremely hospitable. It almost cried when Number Two refused to eat!
The cat continued to grumble and smacked its lips.
“So... you ate them?” Li Hao stared.
“......” Number Two rolled its eyes and shook its tail. Guess! “Did you meet the person of the future that you mentioned?”
“I did,” Li Hao nodded.
“Did he agree to lend strength to you?”
“Didn’t ask.”
“......” Then what did you travel to the future for? Does it really not consume your lifespan to do so? Do you think life is too long, so you wanted to waste some of it?
Or do you think it doesn’t matter since you have to walk life and death? Is this all a game to you and it doesn’t matter how many times you walk that cycle?
What’s wrong with you?!
“What did the Human King say?” Li Hao smiled.
“The Human King said he can lend you his selves... you need to write an IOU!” Number Two didn’t bother asking Li Hao about the other matters.
“Eh?”
“He knows a bit about time, so he said lending the selves to you might mean he’ll lose all of his strength at some certain point in the future. That’s very dangerous. Therefore, he says he wants at least a highly ranked eighth rank dao universe—the likes of Reincarnation—to pay off this debt...”
Li Hao wanted to laugh!
“Number Two...” he said instead after some thought.
“Why don’t you call me senior anymore?” Number Two flicked a glance at the young man. The kid often dropped the honorific these days, that rude brat!
“Senior Number Two...” laughed Li Hao. “I have something that I’m curious about. Does intercepting part of the past and a past judgment count as the manifestation of dao?”
The cat blinked. What did that mean?
A manifestation of dao?
It didn’t understand Li Hao’s question and looked at Li Hao with wide eyes. It’d fully understood Li Hao in the past, but now... some of the young man’s questions were out of its purview.
“If the moments of the past were one of the great daos in the river,” explained Li Hao. “Then does Senior Number Two’s appearance in reality count as a rebirth of great dao?”
Number Two blinked and started seriously considering the notion.
“I... don’t know,” it said after a while. “It... might if you turned these past fragments into a dao. Perhaps it would be then, and could count as a rebirth of dao?”
It didn’t know either how to explain the fragments of the past. Was that a type of great dao?
“Then does Senior Number Two have any other instinctive talents apart from devouring?”
“Instinctive talents...” The cat scratched its head with stubby claws. This was confusing again. Did it have any other innate abilities aside from devouring?
“What kind of ability might you mean?” the cat said uncertainly.
Li Hao glanced at it and thought it over. Devouring was just an ability that it’d copied from the Ash Emperor. Or more accurately speaking, it’d thought it was a copy of the Ash Emperor, so it utilized the big cat’s methods in fights.
He’d never seen the cat use any other abilities. Did it have any?
Li Hao was certain that it must. If the illusory space in the past was a kind of dao, what dao was it? Had the cat lived in the past or an image of the inside of great dao?
Had the War Sovereign only used it to observe New Martial? Or was it meant for research on a deeper level?
It was said that there were more than Number Two and the War Sovereign back in the day. There were other real, living beings. The Exalted Opus Emperor had lived a long time in that space.
Living beings could enter it as well!
The portion of the past was like a dream, a mirage, but also very real!
The illusory Number Two had almost been undying when it was yet to fully be part of reality. And now, it’d lost that ability. It hadn’t been strong then, but could be revived from any fatal injury. That was how the Exalted Blood Emperor had used the strength of a world to revitalize Number Two.
The cat was innately connected to mirage and illusion, as well as the corporeal and immaterial. Did that count as opposing daos of truth and falsehood?
All things contained dao!
Number Two was an illusory being formed from great dao to begin with, so it survived so long as the great dao existed. The truth and falsehood coexisted together for eternity. Hence, Number Two had been an undying being when it was originally part of the great dao.
Now that it was alive and a real being, the cat subconsciously felt that it could no longer be undying. Hence, it thought that it would die...
