Li Hao and Myriad Changes quickly drifted into the void. Wan Qiu was hot on their heels, equally curious about what was about to take place. The closest allied city was very far away. It exceeded the range of a major world’s coverage, so she wanted to see how the Silver Moon king would connect the two cities!

His method proved to be surprisingly easy.

Li Hao hovered in the air and took a false world from the river of dao that was yet to be finished. It was one that’d just been created. He melded it into the Myriad Dao Pavilion of their current city, then took the two toward the next city.

They flew through the void instead of traveling through the river of time. Although they made fast time, the distance really was very far. It took three seventh ranks almost a day to reach their destination.

There, Li Hao repeated the same trick and incorporated another false world into that Myriad Dao Pavilion.

Myriad Changes was shaken by what he saw since he understood the sight. This person had turned his dao rules into worlds!

At the same time, he was puzzled. What then, after that? Could the two really be joined together again after they were separated?

And then... a stunning sight developed.

“We will now enter this particular Myriad Dao Pavilion with our minds and attempt to teleport to the one in the Ninth City,” smiled Li Hao. “We’ll arrive in a split second!”

Myriad Changes didn’t believe the claim, but he didn’t mind giving it a try.

The three quickly split off a portion of their mental strength. Only part of one’s mind would be dedicated to a venture like this, as one would become comatose if their entire mind was destroyed.

They quickly appeared in an illusory space. This was the Myriad Dao Pavilion. Since Myriad Changes had constructed it himself, he was very familiar with it.

There was something new in the space—a door. It floated in the sky and appeared ethereal itself. The sound of water could be faintly discerned from it.

“We’ll be able to teleport back if we set foot through that door!” Li Hao’s voice rang out. “It’d be too hard to send a physical body through. That would take an incredible amount of energy! We’re just dealing with mental energy here, so it’s much easier. Would you two like to give it a try?”

“Alright!” Myriad Changes agreed readily since he was very curious.

The three crossed the threshold and seemed to come face to face with a large river. It vanished when they tried to take a closer look at it. Darkness descended upon them after they properly entered the door.

“There’s only one connection at present, so we can only go there,” said Li Hao. “We’ll have to build an option for different decisions when there are more. People will be allowed to choose where they’d like to go!

“It’s best if we build a hub to direct traffic since there might be more interest than we anticipate. Of course, the hub needs to be backed by a formidable base point and mirage realm.”

Light flickered in front of them. In reality, the three mental entities were flowing through the river of time and borrowing a bit of the dao chess’ ability. They appeared elsewhere in the blink of an eye. It was the Myriad Dao Pavilion from earlier.

Being their creator, Myriad Changes was very familiar with the difference between the two. He paused upon reaching their destination, finding the change incredible.

How was this possible??

It’d really happened!

“I borrowed a bit of spatial dao to accomplish this,” Li Hao’s voice rang out again. “It has to do with the dao chess! I can manage to transport mental entities, but physical entities are out of my hands.

“Or I might be able to swing it, but it would consume tens of million dao crystals each time. That would be beyond the reaches of regular exalted emperors. Even high ranks would find multiple transports a tough pill to swallow...

“But teleportation requires some energy as well, so my thoughts are that we should charge for each instance in order to maintain operations.

“In addition, I hope that the fellow daoist can make the mirage realms more realistic when you build them. It’s best if you can choose some distinctive worlds as your model. This way, people can travel ten thousand worlds from the comfort of their homes!

“Of course, this might demand a greater price from you, but it will be much more comfortable than illusory spaces that all look the same...”

Myriad Changes’ expression started to flicker through various emotions and he quickly said, “Let us go back. We can discuss this in detail after I return to my body, Fellow Daoist Hao Moon!”

He no longer harbored any doubts. He’d observed carefully on the first teleportation and found that it must have taken place through special methods. It wasn’t just a technique related to spatial dao.

And yet, he wasn’t able to detect anything. That was incredible!

If their primary bodies could also be transported, didn’t that mean that Li Hao could appear anywhere in the chaos anytime he wanted to?

Myriad Changes quickly suppressed that thought. It had nothing to do with him! If anyone was to worry about it, it wouldn’t be him!

What was the key to all of this?

It was said that Li Hao was adept with the dao of... time. Was that the core of this function?

Myriad Changes didn’t understand any of it, but he knew that Li Hao would never reveal his secrets. He wouldn’t dare listen to them even if the young man was so inclined. That would easily spell his doom!

Not long thereafter.

The trio returned to the Ninth City. Myriad Changes’ attitude was greatly different from before.

“There are no problems with the fellow daoist maintaining connections between two points...” Myriad Changes said swiftly when they returned to the residence. “But what if there are more points, even one thousand of them?

“Will this still be the mode of operation? And if the fellow daoist isn’t present among them, will each instance require the fellow daoist’s presence, or can they operate autonomously?”

“I will not need to be present!” answered Li Hao. He had some other thoughts about the arrangements, but didn’t voice them aloud.

The dao chess might need to be involved in this matter. He might need it to be part of the river for a prolonged period of time and help him maintain operations. Li Hao wouldn’t be able to afford the expenditure in resources without the treasure.

The river of time could continue to flow, but it was hard to lock onto a location and greatly inconvenient when the target was unclear.

“So does the fellow daoist mean that those who lack funds or are unwilling to spend them on transport can remain in their local Myriad Dao Pavilion, while those who are willing can head to a central hub to discuss dao with more people?”

“Yes!” Li Hao nodded. “Transportation is highly inconvenient in the chaos. Those further away and weaker might take decades or a century to reach a place. But it is a matter of seconds in the mirage realm!”

“Then the realms can be the precursor to a network of intelligence!” Myriad Changes suddenly said.

“That’s true enough...” Li Hao nodded. “But that’s just an added benefit. It has nothing to do with me if you guys exchange information through it.”

Many trains of thought were running through Myriad Changes’ mind. The flow of information was very difficult throughout the current chaos. It was so hard for weaklings to receive any news.

Based on Li Hao’s words, mental entities could teleport at will through his construct. While mental entities were not the real being, what difference was there between the two, apart from battle strength?

Some exalted emperors in long term residence could be the key to transmitting intelligence reports. This way, countless exalted emperors could quickly learn of happenings in countless far off places.

It would be a critical factor to the exchange of dao and development of the entire chaos!

Myriad Changes thought over a lot in this moment and felt that they were no longer just talking of mirage realms. They were now discussing the unification of the entire chaos!

“If I can inquire further... can mental entities walk out of the mirage realms?” the man asked. “I mean, can I walk out of the Myriad Dao Pavilion that I teleport to? Will mental entities collapse if the distance is too far? They seem to maintain their integrity within the mirage realms, but will they be able to do so after leaving the pavilion?”

“They won’t be able to,” Li Hao shook his head. “My abilities don’t stretch to the point of interfering with the outside world. I can only connect the mirage realms. I can ensure coverage when everyone remains within my river of dao, but unless one is strong enough, leaving the Myriad Dao Pavilion will result in collapse.”

Myriad Changes heaved a sigh of relief. That was good! This was a truly terrifying notion otherwise. He wasn’t able to precisely identify what was terrifying about it, but it was good that there were restrictions.

“There won’t be a problem with creating the mirage realms. I just need some time and resources. The alliance will supply this, we can handle that!” Myriad Changes thought over the arrangements a bit more. “There’s just one question that remains, what base point should be the hub?

“There are so many mirage realms that the effects won’t be that ideal. It’s best if all of the base points are an entrance and can funnel people to the hub. Where does the fellow daoist think is most suitable?”

Where is most suitable?

Li Hao gave the question some thought. The hub would see the most foot traffic and discourse. It was a very good place. He didn’t care since it was all part of his river. The key was whoever was in charge of such a place might benefit the most.

The young man glanced at Myriad Changes. The man seemed to be quite... eager!

Li Hao smiled, understanding the connotations. “The hub will be under the alliance’s control! The alliance of mid worlds doesn’t seem to have a headquarters. I have no opinions otherwise. You guys can discuss amongst yourselves and see if you want to gather some sixth rank worlds together to create a base in the hub!

“That will ensure that nearby powerhouses can enter at any time. It will be very convenient with the entrance on their front doorstep.”

Myriad Changes lit up. He’d been worried that Li Hao would insist on controlling the hub. That would make it inconvenient for the alliance. And yet, the young man had voluntarily given that up.

“Will there be any restrictions imposed on those who enter?” he continued. “Does it have to be exalted emperors? Or can those with sufficient mental strength enter as well? There might be powerhouses among them or even enemies...”

“Anyone can enter!” said Li Hao. “Not only that, but I’ll establish some base points with no one on guard. Anyone can enter through them! It will provide an avenue for those who do not wish to reveal themselves. And if enemies utilize them...

“So they do! Whether it is friend or foe, who doesn’t have thoughts about the great dao? This is a place for exchanging and comprehending dao, not conflict. And so what if they really do destroy the mirage realm?”
