Chapter 1949: Chapter 1949: Allheaven Hall (II)
Li Hao was a cultivator from a New Martial vassal world. He didn’t enjoy as great a reputation as the Human King did. He was, in fact, a rookie in the chaos. So was the Human King, but his strength as an eighth rank and battling all sides made him formidable.
When it came to Li Hao’s battle record... Although the alliance of mid worlds had collected a lot of information on the young man, what they knew most was that Li Hao had killed a group of seventh rank chaos beasts. Even a renowned chaos beast such as Phoenix had died in his hands.
Prior to that, Li Hao had aided New Martial in defeating Red Moon major world. After that, he entered the outer regions and killed the Exalted Earth Yang Emperor, then the two exalted emperors of Sun Moon a few days ago. He also killed Earth Fissure and Drifting Life...
Such was the young man’s battle record in recent days.
It wasn’t a large kill count, but absolutely shocking when considering the strength of the targets. They were either seventh or eighth ranks. This pointed to Li Hao being a ruthless individual, despite his relative lack of fame.
Myriad Changes was very wary of the youngster in front of him, but also immensely hopeful.
Yes, hopeful!
A mirage realm of a myriad daos!
Myrad Dao Pavilion!
This was what he’d always wished to attempt, but never been able to complete. He’d built many pavilions throughout the chaos, but had he done so to satisfy everyone’s need for interaction?
Naturally not.
There were no inherently good or bad people in the chaos. Everyone was simply out to pursue their own interests. The existence of Myriad Dao Pavilions was a kind of pursuit and enhancement of dao to Myriad Changes.
Seeing that Li Hao was not broaching the topic himself, he cut straight to the chase. “I hear that Senior Hao Moon...”
“Fellow Daoist Myriad Changes, please just call me a fellow daoist,” Li Hao interrupted.
There was no sense of accomplishment in an elder of indeterminate age calling him senior. It just felt weird.
Myriad Changes readily accepted the correction. Li Hao was a seventh rank, as was he. He’d simply shown face to the young man because he had a few eighth ranks under his banner.
“Fellow Daoist Hao Moon, I hear that you can connect all of the mirage realms together. If I may be so bold to ask... are you doing so through a dao universe?”
He looked at Li Hao with confusion. The chaos was too vast! There were countless worlds in the eastern region alone and limits to the range of a major world. One world couldn’t encompass unlimited space.
How many major worlds would they need to cover all of the east?
One hundred? Or more?
It was a mind-boggling detail that Myriad Changes had to inquire in further detail first.
“Not a dao universe, but a dao domain!” Li Hao smiled.
“Dao domain??” How was that possible??
Myriad Changes frowned. Are you bamboozling me?
“A dao domain that can split apart,” answered Li Hao. “The construction of a dao domain is the construction of dao rules. In my domain, the dao rules can be split up and maintain their coverage within a defined range.”
Myriad Changes understood the theory, but he frowned nonetheless. “But how is that possible? It’s not that I doubt the fellow daoist, but that the eastern region is unbelievably vast! How can one person’s dao domain maintain its coverage when extending so far?”
“That has something to do with my dao. Would the fellow daoist... like to understand it in more detail?”
Myriad Changes glanced at the young man and saw that Li Hao wore a half smile. He coughed gently and smiled as well. “Of course not. But I do have another question—separation weakens them, does it not? Can it be damaged?
“The dao domain is the foundation of a high rank cultivator. Once it is damaged...”
“It’s fine! I have the ability to hide my dao domain,” Li Hao interrupted once more. “Fellow Daoist Myriad Changes, I naturally possess a degree of confidence in myself if I dared bring this up. There is nothing to worry about. What we need to discuss is establishing locations!
“There needs to be one to two thousand base points from which we cover all of the eastern region. In addition, there needs to be many more alliance cities as the foundation for communication... And all of this needs the alliance to put forth effort!
“Each base will require at least one exalted emperor in residence. That point will be a minor mirage, which will connect to the bigger one overall. That will ensure we fully cover the region. It also means that we will need large sums of exalted emperors and people to maintain operations!”
They needed at least one thousand exalted emperors!
Was that a lot?
That was. It was so many that it was terrifying.
But at the same time, one major world might possess one hundred exalted emperors. One thousand exalted emperors weren’t a lot, in that case.
How many worlds were there in the alliance of mid worlds?
No one knew, but if there were ten thousand worlds in the four regions, there would only be more in the eastern region. That also meant more exalted emperors—a frightfully high number of them.
Constructing one thousand base points was not a difficult ask. So long as there was something to be had from it, exalted emperors would champ at the bit to be protectors.
“At the same time, we can utilize the worlds as a base, if you guys are not concerned about me scheming against the alliance. That would be a more convenient and safer course of action. But if you are worried, we can utilize the notion of the islands and build them throughout the chaos.”
Using the worlds as a base point was more suitable for his enterprise, but concerns might arise from that suggestion. Hence, Li Hao gave another option.
“How will we attract everyone inside to discuss dao?” asked Myriad Changes. “And how will the protectors obtain any benefits? An untold amount of energy is sure to be consumed to maintain such a massive mirage realm. Who will shoulder the expenses?
“In addition, can they support the presence of a powerhouse? What is the highest rank that can enter, or can only mid and low ranks partake of this?
“And finally, who will step forward if strong enemies attack and destroy the mirage realm? Or will the alliance be needed to maintain security?”
These were pressing concerns that he needed answers for. Otherwise, everything would be a headache to take care of.
“The Myriad Dao Pavilion is already well known and has a certain foundation in the chaos,” Li Hao offered answers one by one. “I do not have the additional time and energy to spare for attracting customers, so I’ll have to rely on the alliance of mid worlds to advertise the venture. You must do so quickly!
“As for benefits available to the protectors, they will receive half of the dao crystals that entrants pay to access the mirage realm. They can also freely partake of any discussions or knowledge being shared in the realm that they oversee!
“It’s a given that the mirage realms will consume energy. The other half of the entry fee will go toward maintaining operations. And if that is insufficient, I will make up for the difference!”
Indeed, Li Hao would pay the rest himself. After integrating into the chaos and receiving a steady stream of chaos energy, he was able to maintain the operations of a mirage realm.
“When it comes to powerhouses... mid and low ranks are no problem. High ranks are not out of the question either, but the protector needs to be strong enough. The base point also needs to be well fortified.
“We can designate just a few base points, perhaps five of them, as being available for high ranks. Major worlds can be part of this operation. That will adequately support the presence of high ranks!
“As for the attacks from powerhouses that the fellow daoist speaks of... Don’t worry. While I don’t have the time or energy to spare for those below high rank, regular high ranks won’t be able to discover my work.
“Those who can will be peak eighth rank. Whether they attack or sabotage the realm is beyond what the fellow daoist can respond to. I will take care of them.”
Myriad Changes was surprised at the direction the conversation was taking. So this meant that they wouldn’t have to do anything apart from recruiting protectors and advertising the mirage realm?
“In addition, I will need to trouble the fellow daoist to create more mirage realms,” Li Hao said. “I’m not skilled at that. I’ll be in charge of the base points while the fellow daoist will create the mirage realms on top of them. They will force powerhouses to enter with only part of their minds. Otherwise, no matter how strong the mirage realm is, it will not be able to support innumerable exalted emperors!”
What they needed was only interaction of the minds. This was also out of consideration for everyone’s safety, to ensure that physical bodies wouldn’t be destroyed.
Li Hao wasn’t familiar with constructing something like this and worried that it might be too troublesome. The overall effect might not be ideal either, if he was able to somehow come up with it in the end. Problems might easily develop.
In contrast, Myriad Changes was an old hat at this!
“Naturally!” Myriad Changes nodded. That was to be expected. It was just... he was still uneasy. “Fellow Daoist Hao Moon, based on what you say, we do not seem to need to pay that much of a price. In that case, will the fellow daoist... set some... obstacles... in the mirage realm?”
He meant to ask if Li Hao would install any failsafes, such as being able to kill all spirit entities within the realm in one go. While exalted emperors wouldn’t die from such actions, they would suffer some harm all the same.
Myriad Changes was even more worried if Li Hao would have a way to control any who entered. They had to be on guard against that possibility!
“Fellow Daoist Myriad Changes is the creator of the mirage realms,” Li Hao laughed. “I’ll be straight. I’m doing this to comprehend great dao and to facilitate my ascension to ninth rank. I seek to make all daos as one!
“I mean nothing else by it. The fellow daoist knows as well that there are limits to our energy. How can one person swiftly comprehend a myriad of daos? And not to mention, there are strong foes that beset me. Long Zhan of the four regions and Reincarnation from Chaos Sky Region all want my head and drink my blood. Therefore, I need to comprehend the great dao as fast as possible and enter eighth or even ninth rank!”
Ninth rank?
Myriad Changes would believe eighth rank, but was ninth rank possible?
He wouldn’t voice his skepticism out loud, however. He was mulling over Li Hao’s proposal. These were very lax terms.
But he still wasn’t reassured.
“Fellow Daoist Hao Moon, would it be convenient to... demonstrate a thing or two? The fellow daoist mentions that cultivators will not be able to detect or see your work. Then I...”
I don’t believe you!
“I can do that,” Li Hao smiled. “There’s a Myriad Dao Pavilion nearby created by the fellow daoist. You can choose some for me to connect to, then see if someone can easily discover what I’ve done. How about it?”
“Very good!” Myriad Changes agreed promptly. No beautiful picture would outweigh the value of him seeing everything and trying it all for himself!
He wanted to see how the young man in front of him might connect all of his own creations.
