If any of them dared to stand up for the dragon at this point, it would basically be confirmed that they were the one who helped the dragon to achieve its current level of strength.

It goes without saying that the rest of them, especially the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect, would pounce on whoever wanted to help the dragon. Because of this, no one dared to speak against the option to kill the dragon.

Heavenly Eye surely wanted to keep the dragon alive for as long as possible, so that she could kill him on her own time in secret. But she dared not play any tricks right now.

Instead, she said, "So we’re killing the dragon. How do we go about it?"

Tepid Scholar, the Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect, replied, saying, "He has reached the limit of the Sea of Worlds, so we can’t suppress him with attributes. We can only use our Dao and our territory to suppress him."

"In terms of Dao, the Devouring Path is a Grand Dao. So we will need someone with at least a Grand Dao to kill him."

Martial Will snorted and said, "All of us have a Grand Dao. That means any of us can volunteer to kill him. So what you just said was of no relevance. It seemed you wanted to talk so that you could show off your knowledge."

Martial Will had always hated Tepid Scholar and the way the Myriad Phenomenon Sect was run. So he was always quick to criticize Tepid Scholar.

As usual, Tepid Scholar didn’t take the bait. The Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect ignored him and said to the rest, "Since all of us possess a Grand Dao, anyone can get rid of him. But how do we decide who will go?"

No one answered that question. They all looked at each other, waiting for someone to take responsibility. But no one was willing to step up.

The dragon below was doing the same thing and standing in the same spot, so they didn’t feel like they were in a rush to move. Plus, none of them wanted to risk themselves for this matter.

Of course, no one was afraid of Loki. They were only concerned about the other Dao Lord.

Since none of their rank 8 slaves can get rid of the dragon, they would have to personally make a move to get rid of the dragon. The best method they have to accomplish this is to create an avatar and send it.

They can’t use their full power in the Sea of Worlds, so they have to send an avatar to enter the Sea of Worlds. The avatar will be a rank 9 entity. So it should be able to kill the dragon.

The problem is that the avatar can be waylaid by other Dao Lords. If that were to happen, the pathway used to make the avatar could be stolen. Because of this risk, no one was willing to volunteer themselves for this job.

There was also the fact that there was not much benefit to be had by killing the dragon. The main benefit to gain is the Devouring Supreme Metac.

It is also possible that they won’t be able to get the Devouring Supreme Metac because Heavenly Eye said she didn’t see it in the dragon. But even if she were lying, which is probably the case, what they would gain is one Grand Dao.

On the other hand, what they could lose is also one Grand Dao. It just wasn’t worth the risk.

If the dragon possessed something like a Divine Spark or a Divine Tower, for instance, they wouldn’t be talking among themselves to decide who would go. They would all disregard everything and make a move themselves.

Unfortunately, there was not much motivation to make a move now. So they kept silent.

Tepid Scholar saw how they were behaving and sighed. Then he decided to move the matter along.

So he said, "How about we recommend someone? I recommend Martial Will to go."

Martial Will was taken by surprise when he heard this. Then he narrowed his eyes at Tepid Scholar, "What are you up to, old man?"

Actually, he wanted to go down and get the Devouring Supreme Metac. This was because he felt that the Devouring Pathway would enhance his other pathways nicely.

So he should be happy that Tepid Scholar recommended him to go down. But he didn’t trust Tepid Scholar at all.

No matter what he said, he believed that Tepid Scholar was the smartest among them. So he was sure that Tepid Scholar knew how great the Devouring Pathway would be for him.

Yet, the Tepid Scholar, this enemy of his, is recommending him for it. The only reason that he could think of is that the Tepid Scholar is setting him up to take the Transformation Path from him.

He might be all brawn and little brains, but he wouldn’t fall for such an open scheme. So he sneered and said, "You can forget about your little schemes. I can’t be trapped by something so simple."

In response, Tepid Scholar shrugged and said, "Oh well. At least, I tried."

Inwardly, Tepid Scholar thought to himself with a chuckle, ’I guess I will have to make do with the fact that I don’t have to do anything else to stop you from trying to get the Devouring Pathway.’

The other three were watching their interactions with interest. When they saw that the two of them had become silent, they decided to interject.

Sword Mastro was the first to say, "I recommend Martial Will too."

But Martial Will shook his head and said, "I am not going."

Before another person could speak to recommend him, he said with determination, "Don’t bother to convince me. I won’t change my mind."

The Dao Lord of the Four Directions saw this behavior and chuckled as he said, "Maybe I should go."
