The place that they were brought to was the alchemy pavilion.

The other Heavenly Demon Sect disciples were surprised that Lin Fan had control over this alchemy pavilion, but they were also looking around as if they were planning on taking things from this place.

Once they were inside, Lin Fan said, "For now, use this place as a base."

Though he told them to use this place as a base, it wasn’t as if they would be able to come back once they left. After all, he was the one that controlled the entrance to this pavilion, so they wouldn’t be able to come and go as they pleased.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if he had the ability to grant them that access.

So what they would actually be using this place for was to rest up.

It wasn’t as if this was a bad thing since it had been hard on them inside of these Dao Sect ruins. Not to mention that they had been chased down by the disciples of the righteous sect earlier.

A place to rest was something that they really needed right now.

But there was another thing that was concerning.

Moving over to the side with Han Ba, Lin Fan asked in a small voice, "Are they the ones that you recruited for our faction?"

Han Ba gave a nod to confirm this.

After that, Lin Fan asked, "Are you certain that they’ll properly join our faction and follow us?"

He had to ask this question since they looked like they were planning on robbing this place. It didn’t seem like Han Ba had control over this group at all with how they were acting.

But with a confident smile, Han Ba said, "I already beat them into submission so they’ll follow what I say, but you should know the temptation of treasure to them."

Lin Fan didn’t deny what Han Ba said.

Even if he knew that they wouldn’t go overboard, he knew that they would want to search this place to see if there was anything worth taking.

Of course, Lin Fan had already hid most of this and he wouldn’t let these outsiders take a look at them yet. Once he was certain that they were under his thumb, he would be more willing to give them some of the rewards.

Han Ba could see what Lin Fan was thinking, so he said, "Why not just show off a bit too? Even if they know what I’m capable of, they might have some hesitation in their hearts since they have no idea what you’re capable of."

Lin Fan narrowed his eyes to look at Han Ba when he said this.

It seemed like Han Ba had already told them everything and it wasn’t as if they didn’t know his status. During the time that he had been away, Han Ba seemed to have already prepared everything.

The only thing that was left was for him to demonstrate his power just like Han Ba said.

In that case, it was quite easy since he had something new that he wanted to test as well.

He had already tested it on the righteous sect disciples, but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t test it out on the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples either. At the same time, he would be able to test something different with them.

Seeing that they were like this, Han Ba looked at Lin Fan with a strange look.

Even though he already knew that Lin Fan was the one that had trapped those righteous sect disciples inside of that illusion, he never thought that Lin Fan would have learned something like this.

After all, what he did was just draw a painting and that was what released the illusion.

Lin Fan took out a second brush after the illusion was cast and started writing in the air.

"What are you doing?" Han Ba couldn’t help asking when he saw those floating words, but Lin Fan didn’t answer as he continued doing what he was doing.

It didn’t take long for him to finish writing and when he was done, the words were sent towards the painting floating in the air. Once the words made contact with the painting, there was a reaction that came from the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples.

They all scattered around the area as if they were being chased by something.

There were a few of them that tried to fight whatever they were seeing, but it also seemed like they recognized that what they were doing wasn’t having an effect.

Once they realized that, they did the same thing as the others and ran off in different directions.

But with the way that they were running, it seemed like they were seeing structures that weren’t there. It seemed that the illusion that had been cast had thrown them inside of a labyrinth that wasn’t really there.

Lin Fan didn’t stop there as he wrote even more words in the air in front of him.

From time to time, he would flick the brush and send another word into the painting.

The moment that he sent the word into the painting, there was another reaction that came from the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples that were inside of the illusory maze.

They didn’t try to attack the things that they saw, they just simply ran away.

At first there were those that had tried to attack them, but it didn’t take long for them to realize that there was nothing to gain from it.

What they were seeing were monsters that were wandering around in the labyrinth and their attacks were going right through these monsters.

So they knew that running away was their only choice.

Seeing the way that they ran, Han Ban couldn’t help feeling that he was watching a bunch of ants on display.

During all of this, Lin Fan had been carefully observing the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples and their reactions. It was based on this that he was making the adjustments to the illusion with those golden words.

What he was testing was how to control the illusion once it was formed.

This was something that he knew was possible, but he never had the chance to test it. This was something that he had to experience firsthand so he would be able to adjust it in the future.

Which was why the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples had no choice but to suffer through all of this.

Eventually, it seemed like they were about to collapse.

They had already been exhausted because they had been running away from the righteous sect disciples. And now, they were being forced to run around in this illusory maze while raising their guards.

This wasn’t something that they could do that easily, it was something that required a lot of focus and attention.

This was something that slowly drained them of their energy until they suddenly collapsed.

Seeing this, that was when Lin Fan released the illusion that was around them.

Once they saw that they were back in the same pavilion as before, they immediately looked for the source of this illusion. In the end, their eyes landed on Lin Fan and Han Ba who were just standing there.

They didn’t even bother looking at Han Ba since they knew that he wasn’t capable of something like this. Which was why they all looked at Lin Fan with strange looks.

Since they were core disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect, it wasn’t as if they didn’t know who Lin Fan was.

It was just that they never thought that he would have this kind of ability that would be able to trap them all like that.

Han Ba just said with a smile, "I told you that you wouldn’t regret this decision."

There was no answer that came from the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples at first.

With the looks that were on their faces, it was almost as if they didn’t even know what to say in response to this.

But eventually it seemed like they came around.

They nodded in agreement to what Han Ba said, even if they still looked at Lin Fan with strange looks.

From the looks in their eyes, it seemed that they had at least started to accept becoming part of this faction that Lin Fan and Han Ba were creating.

Since they seemed like they were accepting this, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan was going to make things harder for them.

He took out the token for this alchemy pavilion and made some pills appear in front of them.

"Use these and rest up before you head out again."

Seeing these pills, there were grateful looks that appeared in the eyes of the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples. As core disciples, they could naturally recognize the quality of the pills in front of them.
