Chapter 1154: Chapter 1154: Down
Her appearance had become miserable. Three of her wings were broken and one arm hung at an unnatural angle.
The crimson armor covering her body had almost completely disappeared. Blood covered her from head to toe.
Despite all of that, the power in her eyes remained terrifying.
Michael's expression darkened.
"What a ridiculous recovery ability."
It was said Demigods had the ability to revive from a single drop of blood. How true that was, Michael didn't know, but it was obvious she possessed a ridiculous healing factor. Even after taking such a beating, she remained capable of fighting.
This was the excellence of a Demigod.
Since the power gap between him and the three fighting above was too vast, even Michael with his intelligence couldn't fully decipher their methods.
Surely the Demigod had used means only Demigods could access. Unfortunately for her, her enemies were equally ridiculous.
This was the path of the cheater.
Michael continued watching the battle from below, admist his ridiculous thoughts, as the end of the battle seemed to be fast approaching.
The Undead High Drake released another earth-shaking roar while the Bone Dragon silently lowered its crystal-like skull.
The contrast between the two dragons could not have been more obvious. Yet under Michael's continuous commands delivered through their connection, they moved with astonishing harmony.
The female Demigod sensed the danger immediately. She no longer dared exchange blows head-on. Instead, her figure dissolved into countless droplets of blood.
Every droplet scattered in a different direction before rapidly reforming into hundreds of identical crimson silhouettes.
Each clone carried nearly the same aura and each seemed to possess enough power to threaten an ordinary Rank Four expert.
The Undead High Drake ignored all of them.
Its emerald eyes remained locked onto a single target. Its instincts had already identified the genuine body.
BOOM!
The dragon's wings exploded with force. Its gigantic body vanished. The heavens cracked as it accelerated.
The female Demigod's true body immediately sensed death approaching. The hundreds of blood clones rushed forward simultaneously, sacrificing themselves without hesitation.
Each one detonated before the Undead High Drake. The continuous explosions illuminated the sky crimson.
Surviving mountains beneath the battlefield collapsed from the repeated impacts. Entire sections of forest were reduced to ash.
The Undead High Drake charged through everything.
Every explosion merely scattered against its scales and every blood clone that attempted to restrain it was crushed beneath claws capable of ripping apart the air itself.
Seeing this, the female Demigod extended her remaining functional arm. The blood sea condensed into nine enormous crimson suns, creating a distinct heat that could be felt even from a great distance.
Unlike ordinary fire, these spheres radiated terrifying corrosive energy. The nine crimson suns shot toward the Undead High Drake one after another.
BOOM! BOOM!! BOOM!!!
Each collision shook the heavens. The first exploded against the dragon's chest. The second struck its neck. The third detonated beneath one wing.
By the ninth explosion, even Michael, who had relaxed somewhat, became serious again, drawing a sharp breath.
The accumulated force had become terrifying. The emerald light surrounding the Undead High Drake flickered. Its advance finally slowed.
Then it continued forward.
The dark scales covering its body now possessed several visible cracks, and in some sections the damaged flesh underneath could be seen slowly corroding away.
Yet before the female Demigod's eyes, those cracks rapidly closed as the dragon's aura seemed to even increase.
The female Demigod gritted her teeth. She had finally managed to inflict meaningful damage, only for it to disappear within moments.
Unfortunately, while her attention remained fixed on the Undead High Drake for just a brief moment, without the slightest warning, the Bone Dragon emerged beneath her.
Its enormous skeletal wings folded inward as it rose like a spear from below. Its crystal claws reached upward.
The female Demigod instinctively crossed her remaining wings.
CLANG!
The claws collided against them. The impact resembled two worlds crashing together. The shattered remains of her damaged wings scattered across the sky. Before she could recover, the Bone Dragon's tail struck.
BOOM!
The impact sent her body spinning uncontrollably. This time, the Bone Dragon did not pursue. Instead, it opened its jaws.
The energy compressed again and again until even the surrounding space began distorting. But before it could release, the female Demigod sent a ball of condensed blood directly into its jaws. The ball exploded.
The sphere of gathered energy dispersed violently.
The female Demigod, however, had already witnessed enough. Cold sweat covered her face.
That attack, if released, would undoubtedly have rivaled the earlier dragon breath.
Her crimson eyes became incomparably cold.
The blood surrounding her body suddenly began flowing backward. Not toward her wounds, but toward her heart instead.
Every drop of blood she had spilled throughout the battle seemed to return. The scattered droplets rose from the air, pulled inward as though gravity itself had reversed for them alone.
Even the blood soaking her robes peeled away and rejoined the flow.
The shattered armor reassembled. Her broken wings rapidly regenerated. Even the arm hanging unnaturally returned to its proper position.
Within only a few breaths, she had almost completely recovered once more.
The cost, however, was obvious.
The crimson aura surrounding her had noticeably weakened. Her face had become pale. Even maintaining flight seemed slightly more difficult.
Whatever technique she had just used, it had drawn heavily from something deeper than her ordinary reserves.
The Undead High Drake descended from above. The Bone Dragon ascended from below. The female Demigod stood directly between them.
She clenched both fists. A colossal crimson barrier expanded in every direction. Its surface contained countless layered formations rotating simultaneously.
Each layer reinforced the next. Each one drew upon her remaining essence. She had abandoned offense entirely.
Of course, this wasn't because she had given up. Far away, she could sense a familiar presence.
If she could survive for even a few more seconds, she might still live through this, even if not well.
To think it would come down to this level in the end.
