Chapter 293: Chapter 293 - 170: Lin Feng’s Coma, Subordinate Zerg God, Part 2
"Even if what Shen Jie has mastered is just the superficial Power of the Mental Realm, using it against those of the same tier is no different from an attack from a higher dimension."
"Never mind seven at the Tier Two Late Stage. Even twenty or thirty would have a hard time suppressing him once he enters his Slaughter State."
"Besides, your seven are all ordinary Awakeners. If they were Genetic Warriors, they might have stood a slim chance."
"Shen Jie’s own Superpower grants him a one-hundred percent boost to his Physical Power. Combined with the explosive enhancement from his Slaughter Realm, his Physique could even surpass that of the Tier Three Early Stage."
"At that point, he’ll easily break the sound barrier when he attacks. The sheer force of the impact would cause more destruction than the Cannons you’re holding..."
Chen Yanyan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"If Shen Jie were still in his right mind, he never would have attacked Lin Feng. We saved him."
"Instead of wasting your breath trying to sow discord, you should be thinking about how to wake Lin Feng up faster. The longer this drags on, the worse things will be for you!"
The corners of Ling Yi’s mouth lifted slightly.
"Once I’m fully recovered, I will, of course, continue to help. Rest assured, Lin Feng is far more important to me than you can possibly imagine..."
After she finished speaking, Ling Yi added inwardly:
’He is the hope for the entire Zerg Race to break free of its shackles...’
Chen Yanyan ignored her and returned to the Battleship. She went to the bedroom and wiped Lin Feng’s body with a damp towel, trying to lower his temperature. Then, she used the Organic Nutrient Liquid from the Tier Two Zerg Eggs to replenish the Energy his brain had consumed.
After she was done, she went to the bow of the Battleship, turned it, and aimed at the black and yellow Zerg Cocoon that had been moved to an open clearing.
Under everyone’s tense and watchful gaze, the constantly writhing and struggling Zerg Cocoon was about to hatch, heralding a new birth.
The black and yellow Zerg Armor on its surface began to seep inward, flowing back into Shen Jie’s body to once again encase and arm him.
Then, a pair of two-meter-long Big Sabers pierced through the top of the Zerg Cocoon, completely tearing through the skin, which was now only as thick as a thumb.
A humanoid figure was revealed inside, crouched in a semi-squat.
Except for his head, Shen Jie was now covered in dark Zerg Armor scales, looking exactly as he had in the Mental Realm World.
A flicker of crimson, unnoticed by the others, flashed through his half-open eyes before vanishing. He straightened up, standing a full two meters tall.
His entire body radiated a murderous aura.
It was an aura accumulated from slaughtering countless Tiger Spine Zergs in the Slaughter Realm.
"Captain Shen Jie!"
Liu Yi, who had led the men surrounding the Zerg Cocoon, called out in a deep voice.
Shen Jie paused for a moment. He then raised his head, looked at the crowd before him, and broke into a long-absent smile.
"I’m here."
Everyone let out a collective sigh of relief and slowly lowered their weapons. With those two words, the worry in their hearts vanished completely.
Chen Yanyan glanced at Ling Yi, who was recovering nearby. After seeing her nod, she ordered the Tanks that had been locked on the target to stand down.
In the clearing, Shen Jie controlled the Power in his body, retracting the sharp Zerg Armor from his skin. He then placed the pair of two-meter-long bone blades across his back.
They were held in place by Membrane Wings that retracted into his shoulder blades.
In the end, all that remained was a standard set of Red Tiger Armor, making him look just like the other team members.
The permanent traits left behind by the Zerg genes from his excessive Assimilation had now vanished without a trace, gone with his rebirth from the cocoon.
Having returned to normal, Shen Jie had also regained his usual sunny and confident demeanor.
He walked over to the Battleship and asked,
"Where are Brother Feng and the others?"
Chen Yanyan’s eyes flickered as she stepped out of the Battleship.
"After he destroyed the incubation Nest Underground, he absorbed the Spiritual Energy of the matriarch. He’s now undergoing a deep Awakening on a spiritual level..."
"According to Ling Yi, it’s something similar to what happened to you."
Shen Jie’s brow furrowed slightly.
"Ling Yi? That woman?"
Chen Yanyan sighed softly, figuring Shen Jie must already know Ling Yi’s identity.
"I’ll put her in a separate Tank with a dedicated guard. I won’t let her get away before Lin Feng wakes up."
Shen Jie nodded and added a warning,
"She’s incredibly powerful when it comes to Spirit. She can even control living beings whose Spiritual Power is much weaker than hers. To be safe, you should have a few Tier Two Late Stage Perfection Awakeners guard her in shifts."
Chen Yanyan hummed in agreement.
"Understood. Now that this is settled and it’s getting late, we should head back as soon as possible."
"We’re counting on you for security on the way back."
Shen Jie patted his chest, eager for a challenge.
"Don’t worry, leave it to me. All I can think about is that Tier Two Peak Tiger Spine Zerg. If I get another chance, I’ll definitely redeem myself!"
With that, he stepped into one of the Tanks.
It took about ten minutes for the group to load the remaining two hundred Tier Two Zerg Eggs into the Battleship’s storage hold. The wounded were then settled into the Tanks, and the rest of the personnel moved out alongside the convoy. They maintained a steady speed of around forty miles per hour on their way back to the Wu City encampment.
The two locations were over sixty miles apart, and it took them a full two hours to reach the encampment.
During the journey, as the convoy left the Chang City Suburban Area, they were ambushed by another squad of Tier Two Zergs.
But with Shen Jie leading the charge, the small Zerg squad, numbering less than a dozen, was completely wiped out in a matter of minutes.
The pair of massive bone blades extending from Shen Jie’s forearms were like the scythe of the Death God, silently reaping the lives of one Tier Two Zerg after another.
Under the moonlight, he beat his Membrane Wings and hovered in the air, gazing down at the silent world before him. The crimson in his eyes grew ever more vivid.
To release the Slaughter Realm, a sacrifice of death is required.
Only death can soothe the tremors of Slaughter.
