Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Real Protagonist
Asher looked at them and then said, "Well, I don’t think of your faces first."
Adam asked in a confused tone, "Then what do you think of first when you imagine someone or someone mentions their name?"
Asher turned towards Aria and then said, "Overthinker. Strong yet weak. Smart. Likes to study other people’s mental conditions."
As soon as Asher said the last thing, Aria, who was quietly eating her food, suddenly looked up, her face full of confusion, and then asked, "What do you mean by the last one? That one is false."
Asher looked at her for a moment and then said, "Yeah." and then ignored her.
Then, without wasting a single moment, he turned towards Noah and said, "Weak fool. Kind fool. Naive fool. Lucky fool."
Noah’s expression turned from confusion to annoyance, and he said, "Why does everyone’s description contain ’fool’?"
Adam looked at Noah and then said with a smug expression, "Because you are one."
Noah’s expression turned to anger, and he was about to say something, but before he could, Asher turned towards Adam and said, "Useless noble with his useless pride."
Then Asher just started eating his food again, ignoring everyone.
Adam looked at Asher as if waiting for him to continue, but Asher did no such thing and just kept eating his food, after leaving everyone confused by what he just said.
Noah then looked at Adam and said with a grin on his face, "Now that I think about it, mine still sounds somewhat good — a fool." Noah stopped for a moment and said in a mocking tone, "But you, Mr. Useless, it really suits you."
Adam became angry at what Asher said about him, but he soon calmed down and said to Asher, "As expected of you. Let me tell you, no one thinks like that — it’s probably only you."
Asher looked up from his food, glanced at Adam, and said after a moment of thought, "That’s surprising. I thought everyone thought like that, but I guess everyone else is just weird."
After saying this, he started eating again. Adam looked at him and thought, If it’s only you who thinks like that, then shouldn’t it be you who’s weird instead of everyone else? But knowing it was no use arguing with him, he didn’t say anything and just ignored him.
Adam then looked at Noah and asked, "How did you even get close to her? She’s a middle-ranking noble with a bad temper and not talented enough to back that temper up, but still a noble. How did you even talk to her and get her to reply, and then get so close that you’re talking to each other on social media now? And don’t deny it — I’ve seen you smiling at your phone like an idiot many times"
Before Noah could reply, Asher said, "He could also be reading a novel on his phone instead of talking to her."
Adam looked at Asher and just said, "Shut up for a sec, will you?" Then he turned back towards Noah.
Noah looked at Adam, his expression a little angry by what Adam had said, and then asked, "What do you mean by ’how did I even talk to her,’ and why are you making it sound like I am Asher and no girl can ever talk to me"
Asher just looked at Noah but didn’t say anything else, since it was true.
He simply looked at both of them, fully enjoying the show.
Then Noah continued with a smug expression, "Replying to me? To tell you the truth, it was her who asked me to be her dance partner at the party after the test at Elyndor Academy."
Adam looked at Noah, then sneered and said, "Stop lying. There’s no way she’d do that. You did dance with her, but I’m sure it’s either because you begged her like crazy or because there was no one left other than you and Asher, and she’d in no way dance with a guy who punches girls in the face."
Asher then asked in confusion, "She’s one of them?"
Noah looked at him and replied immediately, "She is not, and don’t you remember who you punched in the face during the test?,and you should atleast go easy on girls atleast "
Asher looked at him and then replied in an indifferent tone, "Well, there were too many of them, and I don’t really punch people while looking at their faces with focus and then remember them."
Asher paused, then continued in a somewhat serious tone: "I am not sexist. I believe in equality."
Adam just looked at him for a moment, opened his mouth, closed it again, opened it once more, and finally said, after a few moments, "Okay."
Then he turned towards Noah and asked, "If what you’re saying is true, then how did that happen? Did you use some weird spell or something on her, to make her do that?"
Before Noah could criticize Adam for saying something that illogical, Asher said in a casual tone.
"Knowing Noah’s luck, he probably saved her from some arrogant elven noble, and then she started looking at him like he was the hero of some romance novel."
For a second, there was complete silence.
Then Adam burst out laughing.
"No way that’s true."
He turned toward Noah, still chuckling, but the laughter slowly faded from his face.
Noah was staring at Asher with a slightly shocked expression and then he said"How do you know that?,You were there when it happened?"
Asher looked at Noah for a moment, then thought internally, ’The hell—is this guy some kind of chosen one or something? His life seems like that of a novel protagonist, just enjoying himself, and here I was surviving assassination attempts in my childhood. I wouldn’t be surprised if someday he told me he also has a system.’ Then he came out of his thoughts and said, "I was just joking, but I guess it really happened. As expected of your luck."
