Chapter 331: Chapter 331 - 329:Be my test subject.
The commotion kept rising.
The world contnued fracturing around me.
Like the world had suddenly becom too fragile to support my existence.
But, before it could spiral any further...
[Chaotic Adaptation is activating...]
An ability I had honestly forgotten I had.
It had taken a backseat in quite a long while. But now, it finally made itself known.
The roaring winds.
The fracturing earth.
The ramapaging laws.
Everything came to an abrupt halt.
"Hooo..." I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding.
For a moment there I thought I would have to walk around like a moving maelstrom, but it seems I didn’t have to worry too much.
"Now..." now I had to understand just what the was going on.
Forget the lifted restrictions.
I had barely had time to understand what entropy was, now I was being flushed with 3 more supreme laws and a concept?
PRIMORDIAL? PHYSICALITY?
"System..."
The words had barely left my lips when..
BOOOM!!!!
The ground trembled violently.
The crater beneath me groaned as loose rubble tumbled inward, threatening to bury me alive.
"..."
I bent my knees.
I only meant to hop out.
BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!
"...Eh?"
The earth disappeared beneath my feet.
Wind exploded past my body.
The crater...
The broken landscape...
Everything rushed away beneath me at an impossible speed.
"...What?"
I hadn’t kicked off.
I hadn’t used Force.
I had simply...
Jumped.
Feeling the roaring wind as my ascent continued, I steadied myself, then..
WAP!
With nothing but a thought, space folded as my body vanished from mid air.
...
...
BOOOOOMMMM!!!!
A mini crater formed as my body collided unceremoniously with the earth.
"...." I could only stare at the ashen skies in blank astonishment.
I had only meant to open a portal, yet...
"Heh... looks like my spatial abilities got unshackled too." I shook my head quietly.
The earth groaned as I placed my palms on the floor, aiming to give myself a boost.
"This is going to be a chore isn’t it?" I couldn’t help frowning a little at the unfamiliarity I felt with my own body.
Forget the laws that were currently going haywire, if I couldn’t get my own body to act right, then....
[Chaotic Adaptation is activating...]
Almost as if reading my thoughts, the ability activated once more.
Just like that, my body’s instincts took over.
The heavy weight of my body adjusted itself, until...
"Haaa..." I pushed myself up...
"Well... that was handy.." a slow smirk curled at the edges of my lips.
"Seems you’re the mvp this time huh?"
I clenched my fists. They felt... normal.
Too normal.
"Huh.. seems I still need some practice, but before that, let’s at least understand what’s going on, shall we?"
Done with my musings, I opened my mouth, intending to call out to my system when..
RUMMBLEEEE!!!!!
The rumbling returned.
"Really? Again?" I raised my head in irritation. Eyes trained towards the source of the sound, only for them to widen comically at the sight of a moving mountain.
"What the fuck?" I rubbed my eyes in disbelief.
I shouldn’t have done that.
As the moment I took my hands away, the mountain was right before me.
Large.
Incomprehensibly large.
It was huge enough to make the 100-foot void-stargazer I’d faced a while ago look like a toddler.
And then there was its presence.
"Damn..." I couldn’t help it.
The weight of its presence felt like that of the world itself.
I could feel the atmosphere groan and twist from the mere presence it was emitting.
Its aura clearly belonged to something in the final stages of transformation, yet its presence felt like something far beyond.
"So.. this is an infernal..." I couldn’t even see the face or the rear of this thing.
Just a gigantic moving mountain.
"Hey!!! You plebeian!!" A voice drifted from the skies above.
And then....
WOOOOOSHHHH!!!
The air split apart as...
BAM!
A figure landed right before me.
I couldn’t help the curious brow that rose.
"You there! My young master wishes to speak to you." The creature that had appeared was unlike anything I’d ever seen.
Clad in ash-grey armor. With a deep black shadowy mane floating behind it. Its slitted pupils glowed with a predatory light.
It was tall. Dare I say almost as tall as I was, yet more on the slender side than I was.
"Hey, outsider!! I’m speaking to you." The raspy voice of the newcomer snapped me out of my stunned stated as I finally respond.
"Sorry.. are you talking to me?" I asked. Curious how it could even understand me.
"Foolish outsider. Who else would I be speaking you? Hurry up. My young master wishes to have a word with you. Be honored." The creature grated.
"Hey.. you wouldn’t happen to be an Abyss Walker, right?" I asked.
Abyss Walkers. According to the old man and Liz, were the dominant intelligent races within the abyss. After all, for such a realm, it would’ve been impossible to not have ruling civilizations.
Grrrrrrrrr....
A low growl snapped me from my thoughts as the creature before me began releasing its killing intent.
"Hmm?"
"You outsider..." its slitted eyes narrowed into murderous crescents. "You dare call a Veyr by that disgusting name your kind invented?"
"You’re an Abyss Walker right? What’s got you so upset?" I was confused. What had suddenly made this thing upset?
"You dare!!!!!" It roared. An eruption of killing intent thickening around it.
"Morenha." A calm call came from the skies above.
"Young master!" The creature’s aura died out instantly.
"Why do you waste my time?" The voice asked.
"Forgive me young master. The outsider dared use that slur. He sullies the name of the Veyr." The creature uttered, leveling me a deathly cold look.
"Hmmmm... it is fine. Let Him answer my questions first, then you can have your way with him."
"As you wish, young master." Saying so, the creature turned towards me once more.
"Let’s waste no more time outsider. My young master is a busy man." It turned, then began walking towards the stationary mountain.
.....
.....
"Hmmm?" Noticing my motionless figure, it stopped, turned around, and then...
"What are you doing?"
Yawwwnnn....
I let out a loud yawn as I leveled an amused stare at the displeased creature.
"If your young master has something to say to me, he can come meet me himself." I shrugged.
I might be curious after meeting my first Abyss Walker and Infernal in tandem, but I’ll be damned if some no name was going to order me around like some servant.
"Outsider! You dare!!!"
"You like to use what word very much don’t you? But yes. I dare. I very much do. So, what are you going to do about?" A slow, taunting grins surfaced on my face.
"You..."
"Morenha!"
"Young master."
"The outsider seems a bit unruly. You have my permission to teach him a lesson." The voice from the skies ordered.
"As you wish." Wasting no time, the armored creature pulled out a sleek sword from its sheath.
"Outsider. I advice you to reconsider...."
"I don’t understand why everyone I meet suddenly likes talking so much."
BOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!
The aura of a Comprehension stage expert erupted from the creature as it made its move.
Its sword appearing before my throat faster than an instant.
"Hmmm?" I could see the movements it was making. They were significantly faster than anything I’d encountered till now, yet..
"Slow.." that was the only thought I had.
I could’ve easily evaded the strike. But, I needed to know..
Just how much of a difference did those restrictions being lifted make.
CLANGGGGG!!!!!!!
I got my answers soon enough as the blade made contact cleanly with my neck, the sound of metal clashing against Metal ringing out audibly.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
The entire landscape behind me for miles on end... vanished. Yet my body remained still. Not an inch being budged.
"Heh!" A snicker escaped me before I could stop it.
SHATTERR!!
A sound akin to that of glass shattering echoed through the silence, as the sword the creature had struck with... SHATTERED.
"Hahaha!.." looking at the sheer horror and confusion on the face of the creature. The way its eyes widened in absolute disbelief...
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" I couldn’t hold it in anymore.
I burst into wild laughter as it began dawning on me just how much I had been nerfed.
"Ohhh this is rich!!" I didn’t know who I was more upset with.
Terra for holding me back.
Or the author for making it so that terra held me back.
"RIDICULOUS!!" I didn’t know.
But one thing I did know.
One thing that was for sure.
I’ve finally been freed. And now, it was time to understand just how broken I truly was.
A manic grin spread on my face as I leveled the petrified creature a crazy look..
"Perfect."
"You’ll be my first test."
[DING!]
[Chaotic adaptation is activating...]
My grin widened!
"This is going to be fun!"

A/N: And we’re off. The abyss opens fully. Little tidbit. The abyss is vast and this mini arc might be a little long, I’m not sure yet myself, just thought I’d give a heads up. Anyways...
