Chapter 395: Chapter 395 - 210: Kingdom of Mechanicians (2)

A powerful spiritual pressure bore down on him, striking a deep fear into his very soul.

By now, Lu Cang’s mastery of the soul, Death Spells, and Spiritual Magic had all reached the Grandmaster Level.

"It’s, it’s the King!"

"He’s the one who made me become a Doomsday Prophet!"

"He told me he would orchestrate that day’s destruction! All I had to do was deliver the corresponding prophecy!"

"I didn’t need to worry about anything else!"

Lu Cang observed the man’s spiritual fluctuations. Although they were filled with panic and a desperate will to live, the words he spoke were true.

"The King?"

"Why would the King make you become a Doomsday Prophet?"

He frantically shook his head.

"I don’t know! I don’t know!"

Lu Cang snorted coldly. "Think carefully. Is there anything else you need to confess? If you don’t tell me everything, you can leave your life here."

Though he had the face of a child, his expression was now incredibly grim.

It was a terrifying sight...

"I... I think there’s more!"

Lu Cang proceeded to interrogate him for about half an hour, getting all the details of the situation.

Advancement for a Mechanician requires a lot of resources, and the Kingdom’s resources are limited.

To advance to a Level 5 Mechanician, he had agreed to some of the King’s conditions. One of them was to take on the Profession of Doomsday Prophet.

He was to prophesize the coming Doomsday according to the King’s demands.

After the Doomsday prophecy was made.

The location prophesied to face Doomsday would form a special point of Destiny, where all sorts of destructive events would gradually begin to converge.

’This Profession is truly terrifyingly bizarre.’

’To think a mere prophecy could directly call forth a devastating catastrophe...’

However, if the prophecy is made but not fulfilled, the prophet will forever lose the chance to advance to a Level 2 Doomsday Prophet.

As for why the King wanted to prophesize a disaster for Lorren...

...and how he planned to carry it out...

...these things had nothing to do with Mokri anymore.

He was someone who had struggled to even advance to Level 5 Mechanician. Now, he had used a side Profession to trade for the opportunity to become a Level 5 Mechanician.

He would also receive the King’s full support and resources.

It was a deal with no downsides.

But after advancing to Level 5 Mechanician, he grew fearful. He was terrified of the disaster his Profession would bring, but he couldn’t tell anyone.

So he decided to change his name and hide in a bustling city, disguising himself as an ordinary repairman.

He hoped to wait until the prophesied date had passed, then return to a normal life.

’I really can’t get any more meaningful information out of him. It seems the true instigator is still the King of Tengge.’

CRACK!

Lu Cang lightly exerted force with one hand.

The Ice burst apart!

In an instant, the man was blasted into countless tiny chunks of flesh.

Only the head was still relatively intact.

"Wh... why... I confessed everything..."

Lu Cang casually levitated all of the man’s storage items into his hand, sweeping his Perception across them.

Without answering his question, he vanished in an instant, gone without a trace.

There were many good things in the Storage Bag. These Type VI machines were all the work of a Level 6 Mechanician.

The current naming convention for mechanical creations is based on the creator’s Level.

Type I through VIII models correspond to the creations of Level 1 through Level 8 Mechanicians, respectively. Only Level 9 has no special model designation.

Mechanical creations of that Level are apparently just called "perfect" mechanical creations.

’The King of Tengge must be a Level 6 Mechanician...’

A little over a hundred years ago.

A Level 7 Mechanician visited Tengge and left behind many precious Level 7 mechanical creations.

In this nation of Mechanicians, these Level 7 mechanical creations became Tengge’s trump card.

They also gave Tengge the power to sweep over other nations.

In just a few short decades, Tengge swept across the continent, conquering the other kingdoms that possessed Level 6 Reincarnators and unifying the entire land.

Now, on the continent known as Tengge, there is only one Kingdom.

The Tengge Kingdom.

WHOOSH—

Lu Cang’s position flickered again and again. The Kingdom of machines had no flashy Restrictions.

Instead, there were gates of exquisite construction.

And... facial, fingerprint, and retinal scanners.

’This world’s level of technology isn’t any weaker than my past life’s...’

It’s just that with the existence of Magic, Rituals, and Combat Skills, not many nations necessarily focus their development on technology.

Advanced technology is certainly one path to power.

But... there are too many paths to power in this world. This is just one of many.

Lu Cang skipped the verification process entirely.

He simply used Space Magic to teleport directly into the palace. Although the gates looked sturdy and had high Defense Power, they couldn’t stop a space-based ability from passing right through.

Inside the Imperial Palace, guards with Light Blades and Rotary Machine Guns for hands patrolled everywhere. Their eyes seemed to be detectors capable of seeing through Invisibility.

Lu Cang casually destroyed two of them and touched their bodies.

Royal Guard Robot

Tier: Tier Four

Equipped Weapons: Light Blade, Continuous-Fire Machine Cannon, Blazing Eye...

Installed Functions: Jet Acceleration, Translation, Joke Telling, Invisibility Detection, Identity Recognition...

Loaded Combat Knowledge: Light Blade Slash, Weakness Recognition, Basic Evasion...

’So this robot is Tier Four.’

’That’s roughly equivalent to the combat power of an ordinary Tier Four Adventurer.’

Lu Cang’s Perception swept across the entire Imperial Palace, and he found these robots everywhere.
