Chapter 550: Chapter 550 – Recruitment or destruction?
[2 days later.]
"Okay, so I somewhat looked it up and managed to find few places that are maybe are worth investigating." – said Phantasia as he put on the table five differed paper notes which contained the names of different locations.
"Huh. 5 places this time? I was expecting 3 or less." – said Thanatos.
"Well, this time we have somewhat better understanding of how they are hidden and what not." – replied Phantasia.
"So, this time I’m able to somewhat make way more calculated, precise and targeted."
"...So you are saying that the odds of us finding the divinity in one of these places are thigh?" – asked Maparapra.
"Again, it maybe not perfect and I may be completely wrong." – replied Phantasia.
"...Then again, there is a problem, which I’ve caused when searching for divinity."
"I’ve made too big of a mess, so maybe people will start getting suspicious of me."
"So you are saying that you shouldn’t go?" – asked Thanatos.
"Well... It would be a good idea for me to just sit in home and pretend to be a good boy." – replied Phantasia.
"Still, the problem is that we are racing against time here."
"I can go, but I will not be able to use my monsters, since I want to stay quiet."
"It will make my own search mission much harder."
"..."
"..."
"I’m going to ask a blunt question now." – said Maparapara.
"What do we do when we find more than one still active temple with divinities?"
"The more divinity users are out there, the more annoying it will become for our plan to work out."
"Well, then most obvious way to do it would be to destroy the temples." – said Phantasia.
"From what me and Thanatos found out, the divinities are stored in the altar looking device."
"If I’m understanding is correct, destroying these altars could possible destroy the divinities stored within."
"However, there is a problem that I’ve encountered when I asked my trial giver a question about the invaders from different worlds."
"It seems the temple has 2 levels of defense."
"The level 1 is the trial version."
"And the second is specially made for the invaders in case they discover the temple."
"If we were go and try to destroy the altars, the temple defenses would definitely kick the level 2."
"And it won’t be easy." – said Thanatos.
"The trials have already proven to be challenging, but if you increase the difficulty level, then it will really be hellish."
"We all 3 may be needed to destroy a temple, that is a problem." – said Phantasia.
"...So what about that plan to recruit 2 more people to our team?" – asked Maparapra.
"In number is power and if we have 5 divinities, then we could be pretty much unstoppable."
"Well yeah... But we have problem." – said Thanatos.
"While this guy was looking for the locations, I was looking for possible recruits that would join our side."
"But... We have nothing."
"Or more exactly, I can pint point few people we could use, but then comes another problem."
"Loyalty."
"In order for the plan to work out, we need to obtain 2 more people who are absolutely loyal."
"It doesn’t matter if they are strong or not, we can just nurture them if we need to."
"But the loyalty is the biggest factor here."
"..."
"And you had found nobody that can fill that main criteria? – asked Maparapra.
"Unfortunately, no." – replied Thanatos.
"Honestly speaking... I don’t think we would ever and I mean EVER find anybody who is loyal enough to even go with our plan."
"We may really need to do it with just our trio."
"..."
"What about newbies?" – asked Maparapra.
"?"
"Newbies?" – asked Thanatos.
"Yeah. Newbies." – said Maparapara.
"We can just maybe grab 1 if not just 2 and train them from ground up."
"Raise them in the way we want and then bam, we have 2 loyal bastards."
"I mean, who wouldn’t want the support from that guy specifically?" – said Maparapara as she pointed at Phantasia.
"He can make items and he is rich like hell; he could make sure you obtain some rare class books and what not."
"..."
"True... This way we could possibly obtain loyalty... It would take time." – said Thanatos.
"But there is a problem." - said Phantasia.
"How would they pass the trials?"
"From what I and Thanatos experienced; it was trial where only single player can part in."
"Let’s say we grab random level 10 newbie."
"Even with out support it will take them a while to just reach level 300."
"And let me remind you, I’m already level 600, while the two of you are about to reach level 600 yourself."
"My trial wasn’t about combat, but Thanatos’s was, and she had hard fucking time."
"If you would want it to do that way Maparapara, then we would just need to find the temples, defend them while also straight up just nurturing them."
"How much time would it take? Until they would be strong enough to take on the challenge? And how many people will find out about weird activity regarding defending random ass places?"
"..."
"Yeah.... I mean..." – said Maparapara as she didn’t knew what to say.
"..."
"Wow."
"We should had really aimed to recruit people long time ago, instead of thinking about it now."
"Pretty much." – said Thanatos.
"..."
"Okay. Fuck it. We need to decide it now."
"We can’t fucking destroy the temples we fucking find, if we aim to have 2 more people joining us."
"We don’t know when would be the next time we would find another temples afterwords."
"..."
"Yeb. We are really fucking stuck in annoying ass problem, aren’t we?" – said Phantasia.
(This is really fucking annoying.) – thought Phantasia.
(We really and I mean REALLY need to secure the temple with divinity for Maparapra, before then aiming to destroy any remaining temples.)
(However, if we want to recruit 2 more people, we need to make sure that they too would obtain the divinities.)
(But do we really have time for that?)
(Should we maybe abandon the whole idea of recruiting people?)
"..."
(No.)
(Divinities are far too valuable.)
(Not only that, but maybe this form that they have isn’t complete. Maybe once we become the demi-gods these divinities will in turn evolve themselves?)
"Ahhhhh.... This is really fucking annoying." – said Phantasia as he sat down on chair and just started spinning around on it.
"Is there really nobody who would just sell themselves to us and be loyal?"
"Welp. Most of the nice guys we could use had already been snatched by the guilds or factions. So, I doubt it." – said Thanatos.
"I honestly think we should give up all together on aiming to recruit people to our side."
"... At the rate things are going, we maybe really should give up." – said Phantasia in annoyance.
"But do we really give up? I mean, the benefits would definitely be massive."
"Okay. But counter argument as well." – said Maparapara.
"Your plan is fucked up."
"And not only that, many people really don’t like doing the whole ’evil’ stuff."
"Some say that they want to be evil in game, but when it comes down to it, they can’t bring themselves to do it."
"..."
(What do we do?) – thought Phantasia as he asked himself this question once again.
(Do we wait until we find somebody?)
(Or do we just fuck it and do it.)
(If we just stick with our 3 person team, then obviously future will not be easy.)
(We need to think realistically about this.)
(5 person team is something we need at least.)
(5 divinities.)
(A team of 5 which are loyal to each other.)
(If we don’t plan well now, we will be just fucking taking a shotgun and shooting off both of our legs.)
(Just 2 people.)
(2 people we can recruit now and can be somewhat loyal.)
(They don’t really need to be overpowered or anything like now. We can help them out if they are under leveled and provide them with classes as well as items.)
(We only need FUCKING 2 PEOPLE!)
(THEY CAN EVEN BE NOBODIES!)
"..."
"Tch."
"Fuck it." – said Phantasia.
"I have idea."
"Maparapara."
"You will be doing the temple search alone."
"Eh? Wait, you mean-"
"Yeb. Me and Thanatos will be going around, looking for somebody we can use." – replied Phantasia before Maparapara could finish her sentence.
"I’m going to be honest now."
"There is no fucking way we can recruit ’somebodies’."
"There is just no physical way we could do that."
"So, instead we will be aiming to recruit some nobodies."
"Wouldn’t it be same as raising the newbies from the start?" – asked Thanatos.
"Yeb. It would be in a way." – said annoyed Phantasia.
"Still, we really have no choice here."
"We really and I mean REALLY need 5 person team for this plan to work."
"Still, we should maybe aim to recruit some people that are somewhat around level 300 at least or above."
"I know, I fucking know, this plan is stupid, since it will give possible time for the new divinity users to arise."
"But trust me."
"This situation is like pick your own poison."
"And we really need to have 5 divinity users on our team no matter fucking cost we will have to pay."
