Chapter 805: Chapter 805 - 322: Scarhead Enchantress! Stay Away from My Sister!
Harry gave Newt a somewhat puzzled look, wondering what this had to do with whether Vivi knew about it or not.
However, he still said, "Of course Vivi knows about this, and she actually doesn’t oppose it; in fact, she’s quite supportive."
Newt, who was initially a bit worried, burst into laughter upon hearing Harry’s words.
"Good, that’s good, that’s good..."
Oh.
Harry understood.
So Newt was worried that he and Pabi had secretly pledged themselves, and the main palace’s Miss Grindelwald would make him spin like a top?
Sigh, too much worrying, Vivi is such a gentle girl, how could she do such a thing?
"By the way," Newt said again, "about Umbridge... Although Fudge is annoyed about her losing the fifth-year teaching position, he’s trying to find a foothold for her at Hogwarts... Just wait, in less than two days, a new appointment will be issued."
"What’s wrong with him?" Harry could barely understand Fudge’s brain, "Hogwarts has never been under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Magic, is he trying to make history?"
"There’s a first time for everything, perhaps Fudge thinks he can do it?" Newt shrugged, "I don’t really understand his thinking, but I can make a guess or two."
After jointly ridiculing the crazed Fudge for a while, the Magical Creatures Protection Class came to a close.
"Okay, students." Hagrid clapped his hands and said, "Please put your Tree-Protecting Lofa back in order, yes, those cute little guys are really interesting, aren’t they? Oh, Draco, got caught by a Lofa, did you?"
Hagrid’s voice was loud, and only then did everyone realize, Draco was clutching his hand, glaring angrily at the Tree-Protecting Lofa.
"You should be glad it didn’t catch your eye." Newt reached out and picked up the Tree-Protecting Lofa, offering it a beetle, "But Lofas are very gentle, they know you are children, so they won’t cause any serious attack damage."
When the bell signaled the end of class, everyone reluctantly left the Magical Creatures Protection Class’s area to head to the greenhouse for Herbology.
As they arrived at the greenhouse, the door suddenly opened and the fourth-year students filed out one after another.
"Hi, Harry!" Luna bounced over to greet Harry, her carrot earrings swaying, "Congratulations on becoming the fifth-year Defense Against the Dark Arts professor—"
"Oh, thank you, Luna." Harry nodded, saying.
"However, my father wants to chat with you, Harry," Luna said in her ethereal voice, "He’s really interested in Voldemort’s return, and he doesn’t believe the Ministry of Magic’s nonsense... He wants to write about your experience in The Quibbler—about the Triwizard Tournament and your encounter with Voldemort, to prepare the Magic World wizards for Voldemort’s return."
"Sure, no problem, Luna." Harry nodded in agreement; he didn’t mind being interviewed by Mr. Lovegood—though he didn’t know much about Lovegood.
As everyone expected, Professor Sprout emphasized the importance of O.W.Ls as soon as class started.
"I wish all the teachers would stop talking about this," Ron said dejectedly, "Merlin’s trousers, no wonder Fred and George always said O.W.Ls year is the toughest one. Only a few days into the term, and it already feels like there’s endless homework, and the professors keep stressing the importance of the exams, I’m really about to collapse."
Hermione shot a serious look at Ron.
Ron was unfazed, thinking, what can you do by looking at me? Can’t I complain?
At the end of class, Professor Sprout assigned them another essay.
"I feel like I can’t breathe," Seamus said, clutching his collar and gasping for air, "Help me, help me—"
"Oh, then you should go to Madam Pomfrey, go to the school hospital." Neville said jokingly for once.
Seamus snapped back to his senses, staring blankly at the dragon dung in front of him.
An hour and a half later, the Gryffindor students, exhausted and smelling strongly of dragon dung—Professor Sprout’s favorite fertilizer—headed back to the castle.
No one felt like talking much, it was another especially tiring day.
"Sometimes I think I should just drop out of school," said Hufflepuff’s Ernie Macmillan, "Even the Snake Monster the Slytherins keep isn’t this terrifying—perhaps I should indeed buy some tricks from the Weasley Brothers of Gryffindor, or else I surely won’t last."
"Even if you can’t hold on, there’s nothing to be done," Hanna quietly said nearby, "After all, you heard what the professors said, this is the most important year—I don’t believe you didn’t hear your parents talk about the importance of O.W.Ls at home—"
"Okay Hanna, okay." Ernie replied weakly.
"Let’s hurry to eat," Ron seemed a bit energetic, showing no signs of fatigue, "I’m starving, oh my, I feel like I could eat twenty chicken legs!"
"Why aren’t you tired at all?" Neville looked at Ron in surprise and asked.
"Why would I be tired?" Ron grinned, "I tell you Neville, I’m not only not tired, I’m full of energy right now!"
Neville and Seamus couldn’t make sense of it, but Harry figured out why Ron wasn’t tired.
The Quidditch goalkeeper selection is on Friday, and Ron was already a backup goalkeeper for the team. With the potential of becoming the official one, there was something to look forward to, how could he possibly feel tired?
