Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Scaring the Restless Kiera.
Two kilometers from Horn Lizard Town, Solenne and the members of the Crimson Arc Guild stood with pensive expressions. The desert wind gently swept across their robes.
They stared at the endless dunes as if they were trying to unravel its secrets. Their gazes remained fixed on the distant horizon.
For a couple of moments, no one spoke, but one of them had started getting restless.
Who could it be if not Kiera, the battle maniac?
She shifted her massive axe from one shoulder to the other.
Her foot tapped impatiently against the sand.
"Guild Leader, why are we waiting here?" she asked, her voice filled with impatience.
Her eyebrows furrowed. She looked as though she was about to rush forward at any moment.
"Since the Grim Reaper is fighting the Scorpion Army, why don’t we join the battle?" She licked her lips.
A burning fighting spirit filled her eyes. The mere thought of participating in such a grand battle made her blood boil.
"I bet he would be happy to see us. Especially me when he sees my massive axe."
She proudly raised the enormous weapon resting on her shoulder.
Listening to her rambling, all the guild members rolled their eyes and were not surprised. This was Kiera for you.
Her first thought was always battle.
She could never stay in one place without getting restless and thirsting for battle. Even waiting quietly for a few minutes felt like torture to her.
Apart from Orric, who could manage to keep up with her battle craze, none of them stood a chance.
The two often sparred until both were covered in bruises.
There were many times she had challenged Riven and even their Guild Master.
Against Riven, she could hold on for a couple of minutes, but against their Guild Master, she was beaten black and blue with a couple of her bones broken.
There were times she had to spend weeks recovering.
Even then, the moment she healed, she immediately began looking for another fight. After the repeated beatings, she had learned not to trouble their Guild Master.
But others never escaped from her clutches. And now, she wanted to rush and join the war.
Her fingers tightened around the handle of her axe.
The anticipation on her face became increasingly obvious.
Many times, many wondered how she had survived in the Crimson Dune.
Her personality completely contradicted everything needed to survive within such a dangerous place.
Those who were more cautious had been eaten by the Bleeding Desert, yet such a reckless person was still alive and kicking.
The irony often left everyone speechless. Some even jokingly claimed that danger itself avoided Kiera.
Shaking her head, Solenne turned her head and looked at Kiera.
There was a faint trace of helplessness in her eyes. However, there was also admiration.
"Do you think you can survive in that war?" she asked seriously. Her tone immediately caused Kiera’s playful expression to stiffen slightly.
What she appreciated about Kiera was her courage and fearlessness.
No matter how powerful the enemy was.
No matter how desperate the situation became.
Kiera had never once shown fear.
That kind of courage was something very few people possessed. Many wondered how she managed to survive thus far.
They had asked themselves that same question countless times.
Time and time again.
Kiera would throw herself into danger that would make powerful awakeners hesitate.
Yet...
She would return alive.
That was it, her courage and fearlessness. Those two qualities defined who she was.
No matter the situation, she would confront it head-on. She never thought twice in battle and let her axe do the talking.
She trusted her instincts completely.
Once she decided to fight, there was no turning back. While many would be plotting and overthinking many unnecessary points.
Ironically, her straightforward approach had saved her more times than anyone could count.
Listening to Solenne’s question, a crazy grin appeared on Kiera’s face and her eyes immediately lit up.
The excitement within her could no longer be concealed.
"Of course, I can survive. There’s nothing I love more than fighting," she replied casually.
She rested the massive axe on her shoulder once again. Her confidence remained unwavering as she truly believed there was no battle she could not overcome.
"Even if it means taking your life, will you still join the war?"
Solenne’s calm voice immediately caused the atmosphere to become heavy.
The other guild members quietly looked toward Kiera. They were equally curious about her answer.
Hmm?
Kiera paused for a moment, and the crazy expression on her face faltered for a moment. Her confident smile gradually faded.
Even though she loved fighting, that did not mean she was stupid.
She enjoyed risking her life, that does not mean she wanted to throw it away.
Who in their right mind would charge into a war they could never win when they already had a way out?
She might be reckless but she still understood the difference between courage and suicide.
She shook her head. "Guild Leader, how do you know I’m going to lose my life in the war?"
Her tone carried genuine curiosity. She truly wanted to know what made Solenne so certain.
To her, Thoren was only facing a much larger Greater Dune Scorpion and hundreds of Scorpion Men. Such a battle was not difficult for her.
As for higher level Scorpion Men and beast, the probability of them appearing was low. So she thought.
Instead of answering her question, Solenne asked, "Do you think you can defeat five Level 36 and hundreds of Level 35 Scorpion Men?"
Hmm!
Kiera widened her eyes. Not only her, most of the guild members widened their eyes.
’How is that possible?’ Her heart skipped a beat.
She had just thought the battle was only slightly dangerous and nothing else. But now, her skipped a beat.
Many even sucked in cold breaths. The numbers alone were enough to send chills down their spines.
Although they knew the Grim Reaper was fighting the Scorpion Clan. They never imagined the battle was that terrifying.
Five Level 36 Scorpion Men.
Hundreds of Level 35 warriors.
None of them expected the scale of the battle to be this enormous.
"That was just the lowest opponent you are going to encounter. I can tell you confidently there will be more. More beyond your understanding. This is a war that I dare not join, why do you think I’m waiting here?"
Solenne slowly turned her gaze toward the endless desert. Her usually calm expression became unusually solemn.
"If the battle was an ordinary battle, I would have supported him. But for a battle of such magnitude, I can’t promise I can return alive. So what about you?"
Her words caused everyone to become silent.
No one immediately answered.
They all subconsciously imagined themselves standing in the middle of such a battlefield.
Surrounded by hundreds of powerful Scorpion Men.
Facing five Level 36 beasts and Scorpion Men.
The mere thought alone was enough to make their hearts tremble.
"This is a war unlike anything the Bleeding Desert has ever seen. It is horrifying beyond your wildest imagination."
Her voice remained steady.
"The Grim Reaper is facing the entire army of the Scorpion Clan. How powerful do you think that is?"
