Chapter 400: Chapter 400 - 373: The Ocean Harmony Is Coming Back
Since he was leaving the matter for Qi Xiaotian to handle, Fang Chenyi didn’t intend to interfere too much. He casually handed Qi Xiaotian another bank card, then got into one of the big Mengshi trucks parked by the entrance and headed out.
On the road, the enormous Mengshi turned just as many heads as Fang Chenyi’s Lamborghini, if not more.
As for comfort, however, Fang Chenyi felt it was a far cry from the Lamborghini. ’These seats are hard as a rock.’
More than half an hour later, the vehicle finally reached the outskirts of the construction site. He soon arrived at the spot where he usually parked, but this time, Fang Chenyi didn’t stop. Instead, he slammed on the gas.
The Mengshi beneath him charged directly into the cratered, uneven interior of the construction site.
He hadn’t thought much of it on the city roads, but now that he was inside the site, Fang Chenyi’s eyes lit up.
’Damn, this truck was born for roads like these!’
With its massive body and wide tires, driving over the cratered surface only caused his body to sway back and forth; there wasn’t much of a bumpy feeling at all. At the very least, compared to the large dump truck Wei Yilong always drove, this was far more comfortable!
SCREECH~
The truck stopped in front of the command center.
He pushed open the door, got out, and strode inside.
As usual, the command center was nearly empty at this hour.
Especially over the past half-month, nearly all the construction teams and students had arrived on site.
The construction site was now a hive of activity.
Building foundations of all kinds and towering concrete mixing stations were visible everywhere.
After a quick look around the command center, Fang Chenyi drove over to the Sun Tower area.
The foundation work for the nine towers here was at a critical stage, so Professor Wu and the others had been stationed here to supervise.
He’d heard yesterday that starting today, the old professors were even going to work in two shifts to direct the work here.
Fang Chenyi was deeply moved by this.
However, Fang Chenyi had barely parked near the Sun Tower when Wei Yilong came jogging over. Seeing Fang Chenyi climb down from the truck, Wei Yilong couldn’t help but curse:
"Holy shit, Boss, you’re the best! You knew it was a pain for me to drive that dump truck, so you went and got me this big beast!"
As he spoke, he reached for the door, ready to hop in.
Seeing his subordinate’s antics, Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but give him an annoyed rap on the head.
"Get lost, get lost. This is my truck, who said I got it for you! If you want one, go to my house and drive one back yourself. But don’t say I don’t take care of you, kid. Have fifty of them brought over. Consider them company vehicles for the site."
Hearing Fang Chenyi was giving them fifty trucks, Wei Yilong was thrilled but not the least bit shocked. After all, compared to the astronomical cost of this commercial district, a few vehicles were pocket change.
"You got it! I’ll go pick them up tonight!"
After observing the site for a while and getting pulled aside by Professor Wu to answer some questions about the blueprints, Fang Chenyi drove leisurely to the waste treatment center.
Fang Chenyi was a regular there by now. He drove straight toward the recyclables area.
After another frantic session of scavenging, he once again felt dizzy and light-headed.
Driving back to the villa complex, he saw a dozen staff members in "Inspection Center" uniforms bustling back and forth among the fleet of Mengshi trucks in the courtyard.
When he walked over to take a look, Fang Chenyi realized they were installing license plates on the trucks.
’That was fast,’ he thought. ’And they even make house calls now.’
"Brother Fang, you’re back."
Just then, Qi Xiaotian walked over, carrying a pair of license plates.
"Yeah. I have to say, kid, you work fast. It’s only been a few hours and they’re already installing the plates?"
Qi Xiaotian gave a knowing chuckle and explained:
"Hehe, money makes the world go ’round. Oh, right, Brother Fang, I spent a million on a set of license plates at auction. This pair is for your truck."
Fang Chenyi paused, the matter of license plate numbers just now occurring to him.
Curious, he took the plates and glanced at them. He froze. Ji C·CC000.
’A million for this license plate???’ he thought. ’It looks cool, I guess, but it’s just a triple-C number at best. There’s no way that’s worth a million.’
As if sensing Fang Chenyi’s confusion, Qi Xiaotian chuckled again.
"Well, uh, the million was for a hundred numbers, from C·CC000 all the way to C·CC099."
Hearing that, Fang Chenyi relaxed. ’Oh, it was for the whole block of numbers,’ he realized. ’In that case, it wasn’t just not expensive—it was a bargain.’
He nodded, very satisfied, and said to Qi Xiaotian:
"Contact them again immediately. See if we can buy the rest of the number block. We’ll take it all, from C·CC100 to C·CC999! It’s only for a thousand vehicles. In the future, all the company cars for our subsidiaries will use this block."
Qi Xiaotian immediately nodded.
"Alright, Brother Fang. I’ll go ask right away if that many are available."
With that, Qi Xiaotian immediately turned to make the call.
As for Fang Chenyi, he strolled leisurely back to his villa. ’My head still feels a bit fuzzy,’ he thought. ’I’d better go take a nap.’
However, he had just reached his bedroom and lain down when the phone in his pocket began to ring.
With a sigh, he took it out. The call was from Liu Yishou. Fang Chenyi paused. ’Could my Ocean Harmony have arrived?’
Sure enough, as soon as he answered, Liu Yishou’s voice came through the line:
"Brother Fang, our cruise ship has entered the Bohai Sea. We expect to reach Qinhuang Island Port by tomorrow morning."
"Haha, great! Thanks for all your hard work, Yishou. Just bring the ship straight into the port. The registration is all squared away. They called me a few days ago asking when our cruise ship would arrive, they’re waiting to get our paperwork on file. Just give me a call two hours before you dock, and I’ll arrange for people to handle the formalities."
Just as Fang Chenyi had said, the paperwork for the cruise ship was more or less complete. They were just waiting for its return to conduct the onboarding inspections and other procedures.
After ownership of the cruise ship was transferred to Huaxia, Fang Chenyi had given it a new name. It was no longer called the Ocean Harmony.
Upon its return, workers would remove the English lettering from its hull and paint three Chinese characters in their place: Chen Meng.
And it wasn’t just the cruise ship getting a new name. Fang Chenyi’s A380 was also currently undergoing modifications. It, too, had been named the ’Chen Meng’.
