Han Ruochen breathed through her lips as she locked on the golden abalones that were hiding deep in the sea using the scanner’s vision. With the location settled, she lowered the claw with precise and jerky motions of her arms. She manipulated the claw and popped the giant molluscs that were sticking to the rocks, which were almost eighty to ninety feet below the surface of the water.

Of course, it was her first time using this kind of machine, and Han Ruochen was not good at using it. If not for the fact that the currents were way too strong and she was worried about being washed away, she would have loved to dive in the water and collect the abalones on her own. Using her own hands was much better than relying on this claw.

Sweat started to slowly accumulate on her forehead, and Han Ruochen pursed her lips tightly as she tried to collect as many golden abalones without wasting even one of them. It was a long, arduous task. But when she thought about how much she would be able to gain if she were able to get her hands on these golden abalones, Han Ruochen could only grit her teeth and continue working hard, hoping against hope that she would not end up becoming a cripple.

Looking at her hands, which were bleeding due to a lack of first aid, Han Ruochen felt like she was about to lose both of her hands. Fortunately, her hard work was not in vain. When she pulled the lever of the claw and made the machine move back up, breaking through the surface carrying the basket that she had sent down with it, Tong Zhaodi let out an estranged cry when she saw what the claw was carrying within it.

Nestled in the basket were massive black and gold abalones, each the size of a dinner plate or maybe even bigger than that. On closer look, one could see that the shells of these abalones were encrusted with ancient corals. They were thick and muscular, and the undersides were a deep, iridescent black bordered by countless brilliant golden ribbons. In the current market, these two head abalones of this quality were nothing but a myth, and yet they were sought after by countless high society socialites and diplomats.

"We can sell even one of these for a thousand yuan, Sister Ruochen!" Tong Zhaodi exclaimed as she rushed toward the deck where the golden abalones were lying and then started to count them one by one. Once she was done counting, she could not help but suck in a breath. "Twenty...even if each of them is sold for one thousand yuan, you can easily earn twenty thousand back!"

Han Ruochen sat down on the edge of the deck with her legs spread and her knees propped up. Her arms were resting on her knees as she looked at the golden abalones and the giant phantom eels that she had caught. She did a mental calculation of the haul and realised that as long as she sold them all, she could earn thirty thousand yuan. This was enough to recover the loss from yesterday, plus cover the groceries and many bills for the next few days.

With over thirty thousand yuan, her family should be able to survive for the time being as long as nothing more happens.

"Let’s go back," said Han Ruochen as she staggered and got back on her feet. She was tired and injured. Though she loved the sea, she wanted to take a nap in her own bed. Of course, her priority was to first sell this seafood, or else the quality would be ruined.

**

Two days. It took Han Ruochen two days to return home, and when she returned home, she was not surprised to find the entire house in a mess. When she returned, Han Ziyan was the only one at home. Seeing Han Ruochen return, Han Ziyan was quite surprised and could not help but ask, "Were you able to raise the money that we owe?"

"Do you mean to say the money that you and Mom owe? Because I don’t remember using a penny from the twenty-one thousand yuan that mom borrowed." Han Ruochen took off her shoes and hurriedly went to wash her hands and face. She would have loved to go ahead and take a bath, followed by a nap, but Han Ruochen knew that she could not do it. She needed to go to the county and sell the seafood. Even though she had somehow managed to keep them alive till now, Han Ruochen knew that even the sea scanning system had its limits.

What’s more, the points that she used to elongate the life of the golden moray eels and keep the abalones fresh were about to be used up.

Han Ziyan flushed red when she heard Han Ruochen’s comment. She could not help but say, "Sister, is there a need for you to separate the matter between you and me? We are a family."

"Haha, you finally remember that we are a family? I thought you had long forgotten about this, Ziyan." Han Ruochen made her way to the kitchen and frowned when she saw that there was nothing in the kitchen. She turned and looked at Han Ziyan. "Did you not cook?"

"Sister, you know that I cannot cook." Han Ziyan did not talk about the matter of what happened at the hospital. She had no idea who made Han Yong so furious, but he simply refused to come to the village. He would rather go to a cheap restaurant and cook something for Han Xuehan and himself than cook something for her and Meng Yunhan. These days, she and her mother were relying on the takeout boxes. Even though they tasted fine, Han Ziyan did not like them.

She could not help but say, "Sister, now that you are here, why don’t you cook something for me? And then there are also my and Mum’s clothes. Can you wash them too? I am so tired these days. I have to go to the hospital and the warehouse...there is no time for me to rest."
