Chapter 486: Chapter 486 -486-A New Main Quest
Daniel had only just entered the Myriad-Race Universe when a system notification rang in his ears.
[Ding! You have received a new quest. Please open the quest panel to view the details.]
Daniel immediately opened the interface.
[Save the Myriad-Race Universe]
[Quest Owner]: Daniel
[Quest Type]: Special Main Quest
[Objectives]:
Advance your cultivation to Oracle-grade. After your advancement, an opponent named Kru will arrive and challenge you. Accept Kru’s challenge and defeat him. Before the final battle, persuade the mysterious Eternal Grade expert accompanying Kru to use the release of the temporal restraint upon the Myriad-Race Universe as the wager. Defeat Kru and compel the Eternal expert to remove the spacetime acceleration.
[Quest Background]: Earth is one of the ancestral homelands of humanity. Protecting Earth requires preserving the Myriad-Race Universe. God Miral has descended into this universe with his personal disciple, Kru, for the purpose of challenging you. You must defeat Kru and persuade God Miral to release the universe from the temporal restraint currently accelerating its destruction.
[Quest Reward]: Great Universal Will Fragment x1
Daniel closed the panel after reading the information.
Several questions immediately appeared in his mind.
"Who exactly is God Miral? He can appear directly in the system’s quest description and apparently possesses the power to reverse the altered flow of time throughout an entire universe."
"Why has he brought Kru to challenge me? Why does the quest require me to reach Oracle-grade before the duel can begin?"
The entire situation was extremely strange.
After thinking for a moment, Daniel forced the distracting questions aside.
Regardless of Miral’s identity, Daniel’s immediate objective was clear.
He had to reach Oracle-grade.
Now that he knew God Miral could remove the spacetime acceleration, Daniel could not allow the opportunity to pass. If Miral acted, Earth and the Myriad-Race Universe would gain enough time to survive and prepare.
The reward was equally tempting.
Another Great Universal Will Fragment could advance Absolute Spacetime again and greatly increase Daniel’s Strength.
"This quest is worth the risk," Daniel concluded. "I must complete my advancement first."
He abandoned his immediate plan to travel to Earth and changed the course of the Emperor-class sacred vessel, heading instead toward the headquarters of Golden Holy Mountain.
Oracle Shamir had previously mentioned that he also intended to enter the Sacred Origin Forbidden Land.
Daniel remembered the conversation.
"The forbidden land was originally supposed to open after another fifteen hundred years. But the time acceleration affecting the universe has probably destroyed that waiting period. This may be the perfect opportunity to enter."
Under Daniel’s control, the sacred vessel traveled at extraordinary speed and reached Golden Holy Mountain in a short time.
Daniel contacted Oracle Shamir and explained his purpose.
Shamir looked at him and smiled.
"You truly intend to enter that forbidden land?"
"The original restrictions around it have already weakened and collapsed. Because the entire universe is experiencing accelerated time, the forbidden land can now be entered at any moment. I have also been considering another period of cultivation there. Since your destination is the same, we can travel together."
Daniel nodded.
"I searched through many records and treasures capable of assisting with comprehension of the Law of Destruction. None of them seemed suitable for my current stage. Does Oracle Shamir know of a better resource?"
Shamir laughed.
"You asked the right person. The Sacred Origin Forbidden Land contains an environment extremely suitable for comprehending Destruction. During my previous visit, I raised my own Law of Destruction to the terminal stage there."
Daniel’s eyes immediately brightened.
He had found exactly the opportunity he needed.
Shamir continued, "The forbidden land contains innumerable inheritances and countless treasures. Once you enter, you will understand how extraordinary it is. However, many experts from other universes have already entered the Myriad-Race Universe to compete for opportunities. The region will be far more dangerous than during my previous visit. You must not become careless."
Daniel nodded.
"I saw many outsiders while crossing the Chaos Starsea. Your warning is correct."
Shamir raised one hand, and the two soon departed for the Sacred Origin Forbidden Land.
The forbidden land was located within the Myriad-Race Universe.
When they arrived outside, Daniel saw countless laws twisting together into chaotic currents. His vision became distorted after only a brief glance.
Laws collided, entangled, and shattered repeatedly. Around the outer edge of the forbidden land, they had formed a vast natural region of law turbulence more terrifying than ordinary chaotic currents.
The area was extraordinarily dangerous.
Even high-stage Oracle-grade experts would not dare cross it recklessly. The violent currents could tear apart bodies, Divine Souls, and treasures alike. Ordinary Oracle-grade artifacts could not withstand the continuous impact.
This was merely the outermost barrier.
Daniel became increasingly curious about what kind of power lay within the true depths of the forbidden land.
He took out a treasure and threw it into the turbulent region.
The artifact entered the law currents and was instantly torn apart. Its materials, spirit, and internal laws were reduced to nothingness.
Daniel’s expression became solemn.
Shamir explained, "Anyone below high-stage Oracle-grade will find it extremely difficult to cross this outer barrier. Only law comprehension at the level of a high-stage Oracle can reliably resist the corresponding attacks."
"There is another possibility. If your law comprehension has reached mid-grade, your foundations are stable, and you possess a continuous supply of divine power, you may endure the consumption long enough to pass."
Shamir looked at Daniel.
"At present, you should not attempt to cross alone. Follow me."
With a wave of Shamir’s hand, a powerful law barrier formed around Daniel’s body.
The barrier around Daniel felt like a complete miniature system of laws. Each power supported the others, preventing any single current from finding an opening. Daniel quietly studied the structure while Shamir prepared to enter. Even this temporary protection contained insights that an ordinary Divine-grade cultivator might spend centuries attempting to understand.
He did not feel ashamed to rely upon a stronger expert for the crossing. Recklessness was not courage, and dying against an outer barrier would accomplish nothing. His goal lay inside the forbidden land: the opportunity to perfect Destruction, advance to Oracle-grade, and gain the qualifications required to face Kru. Once those objectives were complete, Daniel believed he would be able to cross the same turbulence without anyone’s protection.
