The scenic area management must have noticed that tourists, much like Chen Yuan and his companions, often wanted to go down for photos, so they had built a few steps. At the bottom rested a huge, unworked stone, its surface pitted and uneven from the constant force of the water.

The three of them walked together, holding onto each other for support.

It was a perfectly harmonious scene.

Once they were beside the waterfall, they could see that the area around the spring was covered in large stones. The waterfall itself had forcefully carved a basin in the center, and the overflowing water streamed in all directions, rushing down the mountain.

Jiangg Yao even spotted schools of tiny, finger-sized fish of some unidentifiable species swimming against the current. At first, she thought she was mistaken, but after rubbing her eyes, she confirmed they were real.

"There are actually little fish here!" she said excitedly, patting Chen Yuan’s shoulder.

"Where?"

"You don’t see them? Right at our feet! Young Master, I want to catch one! I want to take them home and raise them!"

"They won’t survive. I can catch one for you to look at, though."

Chen Yuan bent over to look and saw them too—a school of tiny fry swimming upstream against the current.

"We can’t go any further, our shoes will get wet. Let’s just take pictures here."

"No way! I want to take my shoes off and play. The water’s so shallow, and it’s not dangerous."

Her mood was so relaxed, and with the two people closest to her right there, any reserve Jiangg Yao might normally have was gone. She had completely cut loose. Acting like a child, she tugged on Chen Yuan’s and Ningning’s hands and began to wheedle.

Jiangg Ning pressed her lips together in resignation.

Unable to refuse her, Chen Yuan had to agree.

Chen Yuan watched her with a gentle expression, starting to warn Jiangg Yao not to wade too far out. But before he could finish, she was already hitching up her pant legs and wading closer and closer to the waterfall.

Meanwhile, Jiangg Ning folded her arms.

Gritting her teeth, she deftly slipped off her own shoes and socks, stepped barefoot into the stream, and charged after Jiangg Yao.
