Chapter 1952: Chapter 1952: Dao Master (I)
The fourth rank could clearly see the wariness in the first rank world master that faced him.
“I am Allheaven Hall envoy Rain Demon! Is this the world of West Huan? Are you the Exalted West Huan Emperor?” The fourth rank’s voice echoed through the void.
West Huan listened gravely from within his world. He could sense the other’s harrowing presence. As for the Allheaven Hall, that was a new name to him. He viewed it with skepticism.
He knew of the alliance of mid worlds and some of the premier worlds in the upper third realm, as well as some of the names of the movers and shakers. But Allheaven Hall? What was that?
It wasn’t anything he could afford to be on the wrong side of, in any case.
“This junior is indeed West Huan...” the world master hastily responded.
The fourth rank Rain Demon heaved another sigh of relief and thundered, “I am here to fulfill orders from the dao master of Allheaven Hall to visit West Huan and bring the gift of the Allheaven secret realm!”
West Huan frowned quizzically. What was that?
Anything was fine so long as this wasn’t an invasion.
“The east has been thrown into turmoil in recent days,” said Rain Demon, knowing that the other was highly wary of his presence. “West Huan is situated on the edges of the eastern region and might not be aware of the happenings.
“To sum it up, the chaos is a mess! There are 987 worlds in the alliance of mid worlds. We have joined hands with the Allheaven dao master to create Allheaven Hall. It will be situated throughout the eastern region. The dao master will exercise supreme ability to craft a dao domain that encompasses all...”
The fourth rank spoke of this with pride, admiration, and reverence...
Allheaven Hall had been officially introduced to the alliance three months ago. There were now many base points in the chaos. Although he was a member of the alliance, he preferred to call himself an envoy of Allheaven Hall these days. That was more impressive!
Who was the dao master?
Rain Demon didn’t know.
Indeed, he had no idea.
He only knew that the Exalted Myriad Changes Emperor and others within the alliance worked for the dao master. That was an easy indicator of how formidable the dao master was. Besides, being able to extend his dao domain throughout the east was a mind-boggling achievement.
At the same time, Rain Demon had some guesses because there were rumors that a premier existence would teleport over at any time once a location was set here. It would be the legendary eighth rank dao chess!
He’d never seen the treasure in person before, so this might be his chance.
West Huan listened carefully, not daring to miss a single detail. Shock and incredulity spread over his face. Surely this person was joking!
He spoke of entering this Allheaven secret realm with their minds and traversing the eastern region, being able to teleport at any time to the core of Allheaven Hall. Millions of exalted emperors could discuss dao!
Whether a great dao was strong or weak, there were unique characteristics in each comprehension. If a discussion went well, great benefits would follow. If a discussion did not go that well, at least one could listen to others share their dao. There would even be high ranks that held lectures!
Could that possibly take place?
I’m just a first rank... Would high ranks care about what I say? Will they answer our questions?
No one who’d spent time in the chaos would believe that there were any good people out there. West Huan didn’t believe it, at any rate!
Rain Demon was clearly familiar with such lines of thinking and boomed, “There is no need for the fellow daoist to worry! To put it bluntly, the fellow daoist is only a first rank. If we wished to seize your world, would the fellow daoist be able to stand against me?
“This will be an extremely influential undertaking for all of the chaos worlds!” smiled Rain Demon. “All of the worlds will be connected in a network to discuss dao. Our identities can be hidden and we will interact only in mental form. The degree of safety and range that this will be available to is far beyond our imagination!
“I am here to request your opinion on one matter. This place is in the far reaches of the east. Is the fellow daoist willing to establish an entrance here? The fellow daoist can even be the one holding down the fort! If you are willing, I will invite an eighth rank here to set it up...”
West Huan was extremely shaken. What?? An eighth rank?! And I can have an entrance here?? Seriously??
Based on what Rain Demon’s saying, I won’t need to go anywhere else if there’s an entrance right here. I’ll be able to enter Allheaven Hall anytime!
And eighth rank! That’s incredible! Is an eighth rank really going to come??
It was just as Rain Demon said, a mid rank was far beyond his abilities to withstand, to say nothing of an eighth rank. Even exercising home world advantage wouldn’t be enough!
The Empyrean Kings next to him listened with dry mouths. Allheaven Hall, a secret realm in which countless exalted emperors exchanged dao! Transportation to various parts of the chaos, traveling with one’s mind and listening to various lectures of dao...
Was this truly feasible?
Based on what they were hearing, the realm would be open to only exalted emperors. But if those below exalted emperor possessed strong enough mental strength or had ready access to an entrance, then they could enter the secret realm as well. They just wouldn’t be able to teleport elsewhere.
Wow!
“Senior Rain Demon, why... why has my world been chosen?” stammered the West Huan master. “Why is it going to be one of the entrances? Based on the senior’s worlds, there are only one thousand entrances, so why...”
Wouldn’t this be a hard fought opportunity? There were almost one thousand worlds in the alliance of mid worlds alone! Why would this plum opportunity fall into his lap?
“Firstly, West Huan is located on the edge of the region. There are very few worlds here!” Rain Demon answered with resignation and envy. “Secondly, the dao master has spoken that all layers will have their own number of spots. They will not be concentrated in one layer alone.
“Mid worlds are all in the fourth layer and above, very few people are willing to move downward. Thirdly, this is a command from the top that we must follow! I’d like to be given an entrance, but I don’t have the right to.
“I am an exalted emperor of Rain World and we have an entrance, but I am not the world master, so I cannot dictate where the entrance shall be.”
West Huan was both delighted and surprised. He was surprised that a fourth rank wasn’t able to call the shots, and delighted that he could.
However, he was also very apprehensive.
I’m only a first rank! I’m too weak!
“Fellow daoist, give me an answer.” Rain Demon was starting to grow impatient. “There are others who are willing if you don’t agree, I just couldn’t be bothered visiting them. The chaos is too big! If the fellow daoist agrees, I’ll immediately set your world as a site and start the rest of the preparations.
“The eighth rank will arrive to personally deliver the secret realm. I do not carry the key components on me! An eighth rank would not waste time on a first rank world otherwise!”
In other words, what are you afraid of? An eight rank won’t think much of your world. Even I don’t want it!
How dare you hesitate at the opportunity you’ve been given? You’re so ungrateful!
There are millions upon millions of worlds like yours. You don’t have the right to be schemed against. We’d plot after a major world if we did that. Not even mid worlds would be worth it.
West Huan quickly thought through the situation and quite agreed. I’m so weak that if this powerhouse decided to attack my world, I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
“My thanks for the senior’s goodwill,” he nodded. “I am not hesitating. I just can’t believe that such a matter would fall in my lap...”
“Then do you agree?”
“Yes!” West Huan bobbed his head up and down. Was there a point to not agreeing?
If he refused and offended this one, then danger would be at hand. If he did and trouble resulted from it, that was a problem for the future.
In actuality, he didn’t have a choice! This was not a multiple choice question. Only one answer was permitted!
Rain Demon smiled. “Very good, I will fix the location now and invite the senior to arrive. Fellow Daoist West Huan, please be on your best behavior!”
West Huan was extremely nervous, but there was nothing more to say at this point. He quickly walked out of his world and entered the chaos, not daring to linger in the world. Although standing in the void was dangerous, there was no helping it at this point.
Would an eighth rank really come?
Who knew.
Rain Demon didn’t say anything else. It was his first time trying so—it’d been other exalted emperors making the summons before. It was said that the senior arrived quickly, so he was curious how it would work as well.
Something that appeared to be a chessboard appeared in his hand. He set it on fire!
The weak flame spread over the item and exuded certain ripples. Rain Demon waited anxiously.
West Huan lowered his head and almost picked at his nails from nerves.
The chaos quieted for a split second. And then slowly... gradually...
The two exalted emperors looked into the distance. There seemed to be a ripple traveling from that direction. It took only a moment before the ripple reached them.
A person appeared, someone who appeared young yet had a deep look in his eyes. His presence was so strong that they couldn’t sense anything. It was simply as vast and unbounded as the chaos!
A stifling atmosphere draped over the two as soon as the newcomer appeared, as if they’d landed in another space.
“Is this the site of base point 687?” A voice rang in their ears.
“In response to the senior...” Rain Demon nervously jerked his head up. “Yes, this is where the world of West Huan is. It is on the edge of the east and close to the south...”
His heart jolted with shock when he snuck a careful glance at the other. Despite the lack of an overwhelming presence, one seemed to be looking into the cosmos when they met the dao chess’ eyes. The look in them was infinite, like a million sparkling stars.
Rain Demon nearly lost himself with one look. Was this what was meant by a premier exalted emperor??
High ranks were ordinary to Li Hao’s group now. But if they thought back to when they first left Silver Moon, a high rank had been incredibly mysterious and profound then. They didn’t dare look at one in the eyes!
The dao chess was now an eighth rank. It’d been rushing to and fro these days, working tirelessly to achieve impressive results.
There were almost seven hundred base points now, keeping Myriad Changes and the entire alliance extremely busy. Large numbers of exalted emperors were busy creating mirage realms. The dao chess was in charge of transportation, so it’d been madly jumping around to and fro.
