Chapter 1041: Chapter 1041: Logically Impossible

← Ch. 1040 All Chapters Ch. 1042

All the Karmic Lines around Sebastian vanished.

It was done.

Kyle had broken two Karmic Lines already, and the punishment had been severe. Now, he had broken thousands.

He watched as the distorted lines vanished, and as expected, a red burst appeared in his vision.

The punishment had arrived.

As the red burst vanished, Kyle closed his eyes.

...

Kyle opened his eyes again.

Aside from the red burst, nothing had happened.

At that moment, Kyle noticed that Sebastian's brain was changing. The new brain Kyle had created was suddenly transforming. Yet, Sebastian's state kept deteriorating.

Thousands of thoughts and concepts rushed through Kyle's mind as he realized what was going on.

'It's working!' Kyle thought as he narrowed his eyes. 'I have to continue!'

Elemental Energies gathered around Kyle as he expanded Sebastian's brain. Sebastian's old mind was being replaced, and the Spacetime Lightning inside it was being pushed to the side.

He quickly finished constructing Sebastian's new brain and gathered more Spacetime Lightning in Sebastian's abdomen. At the same time, he created a normal Center around the ball of lightning.

Lastly, he created rudimentary Energy Pathways, which connected Sebastian's Center and brain.

'The next step will show whether or not this is a success,' he thought as he shoved Spacetime Lightning into Sebastian's mind.

The Spacetime Lightning flowed into Sebastian's mind, and a moment later...

It started working!

Energy was flowing through Sebastian's mind in an orderly manner!

It was a working brain!

The Spacetime Lightning around Sebastian was starting to calm down, and slowly, it was assuming the form of a human body.

Kyle watched Sebastian for several seconds.

'He's growing! He's recovering!' Kyle thought as a feeling of elation rushed through him.

A moment later, the hammer on Kyle's back grew and took the form of a huge Elemental, which encompassed both of them. It was dangerous to stay in the open like this.

Inside the Elemental, Kyle fell onto his ass and released a deep breath.

He was still in the process of advancing. His body, Center, and mind were still growing stronger, but he could barely pay attention to them. His mind was too preoccupied with making sense of what he had just done.

Over the next second, Sebastian's body fully recovered, and finally...

He opened his eyes.

Kyle looked at Sebastian with nervousness. Even though Sebastian had survived, it wasn't clear if this was still the Sebastian he knew. After all, Kyle had essentially reshaped Sebastian's mind.

"Are you okay?" Kyle asked slowly.

Sebastian blinked a couple of times in confusion before looking at Kyle. "I..."

"Did you succeed?" Sebastian asked.

"You tell me," Kyle answered.

Sebastian furrowed his brows before standing up. He looked at his body before summoning some Spacetime Lightning. At the same time, Sebastian's Elemental was moving around Kyle's Elemental for a bit before stopping again.

"Everything seems fine," Sebastian said.

"Do you still remember what happened?" Kyle asked.

"Our relays broke and left one last message," Sebastian said before he sighed. "Star Genesis didn't make it."

At that moment, Kyle fell backward with closed eyes.

"Kyle!" Sebastian shouted in worry.

"It's fine," Kyle transmitted. "I'm just... relieved. You have no idea how close you were to death. Realistically, you have no business being alive."

Sebastian became worried when he heard Kyle's words. Was it that bad?

"What happened?" he asked. "What did you do? Didn't my Spirit reconnect with my mind after we went to the Elemental Dimension?"

"No, it didn't," Kyle answered. "You were in a state between life and death. Your Spirit couldn't recreate your existence since you didn't have a mind anymore."

Sebastian's face turned white as he inhaled through his teeth. He knew how bad that was. There was no way to return from such a state!

But then, how was he alive?

"What did you do?" Sebastian asked.

"Well, I tried to recreate your Center, but I had no idea how your Center works. I can create a normal one, but you don't have a normal one. Yours works with Spacetime Lightning."

"After failing, I've tried everything in my power to recreate your mind, but that also wasn't possible. Your mind works with Spacetime Lightning, but that doesn't mean that it's made of Spacetime Lightning."

Sebastian realized how dire his situation had been. He was trying to think of a way out of such a situation, but he couldn't think of any. It was simply impossible.

"Are you sure?" Sebastian asked. "I can't see how you could salvage such a situation."

"Yes, I'm sure," Kyle answered with some annoyance. "I saw it with my own eyes. I know what happened."

"Then, how did you resurrect me?" Sebastian asked with furrowed brows. "If you can't even recreate my Center, how could you possibly recreate my mind? You need my mind to reshape my body and Center, but you can't recreate it. It's a riddle that's logically impossible to solve."

"That's why I had thought as well, but then I got an idea," Kyle answered. "The only way to resurrect you is to recreate the connection between your mind and your Spirit, correct?"

Sebastian nodded.

"So, how does your Spirit know which mind is its mind? How does it know where your body is? How does it know where to send Energy to heal you?" Kyle asked.

"A determined position in reality," Sebastian answered. "Even if we travel through Dimensions, space, and time, we never leave reality."

Kyle nodded. "Your mind was in a chaotic and unfixed state. It turned into Spacetime Lightning, which oscillated violently. Your position was no longer determined but relative."

"Yes," Sebastian answered. "That's also why my Spirit couldn't reconnect with my mind. It didn't exactly know where I was."

Kyle nodded again. "So, I pushed your lightning away and partially created a regular brain in the position where your actual brain should be."

Sebastian's eyes shot open.

"That couldn't possibly work in so many ways! First, this would be an empty brain without any functions. Second, the new brain would push the lightning of the old brain away, accelerating the speed at which Sebastian's condition would deteriorate. Third, the new brain had zero connection with Sebastian's Spirit. Putting a new brain into Sebastian's head wasn't different from putting a ball of metal into his head!

"How the fuck did that work?!" Sebastian asked in shock. "How do I remember anything?! I remember stuff that I've never told you!"

"Unless these are not my memories," Sebastian spoke with horror.

"Calm down," Kyle answered. "There are no false memories in your mind. Your Spirit recreated your mind. I just gave it the necessary materials."

"But how?!" Sebastian shouted in confusion. "You can't connect a different brain with a Spirit!"

"Under normal circumstances, no," Kyle answered, "but these were not normal circumstances."

"You were not dead, but you were also not alive. Your mind didn't exist anymore, but the world and your Spirit still believed that it had to be somewhere inside that ball of lightning. Your Spirit was searching for it, but it couldn't find it."

"And I've used that to resurrect you."
