Nate leaned forward across the elegant restaurant table, his eyes bright with genuine excitement as he updated Kyle on everything that had happened in the past few weeks. The soft clink of silverware and low murmur of other diners created a comfortable backdrop to their conversation.

"Man, you won't believe how fast things moved," Nate said, grinning as he took a sip of his drink. "After everything that happened, I actually started taking classes seriously again. No more scraping by. And… I got a new girlfriend. Her name's Sophia. She's in my business ethics class. Smart as hell, funny, and she actually likes that I'm not some broke college kid stressing about every dollar anymore."

Kyle's lips curved into a warm, genuine smile. He could see the change in Nate — the confidence, the relaxed shoulders, the way success looked good on the younger man. "Sophia, huh? Sounds like she's keeping you on your toes. I'm happy for you, Nate. Really."

Nate laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, she is. We've been together a couple of weeks now. She thinks I'm doing pretty well because I can actually afford nice dates without stressing. Little does she know it's mostly because of the steady paycheck from the club."

Kyle chuckled softly, raising his glass slightly. "Don't sell yourself short. You put in the work."

"That's the thing though," Nate continued, leaning in closer, voice dropping with awe. "Kyle, between school and the job, I've managed to save enough that — if I'm smart about it — it could actually build into something serious. I'm still just a college student, but I don't have to worry about rent or food the way I used to. It's unreal. My life is turning around in the best way possible."

Kyle's smile deepened, a quiet pride settling in his chest. Seeing Nate thrive like this felt rewarding.

"And the nightclub?" Kyle asked, genuinely curious. "How's it going running things for me?"

Nate's face lit up even more. "It's going great, actually. I've been handling a lot more responsibility now. I'm basically running the floor most nights — managing staff, inventory, dealing with suppliers when needed. Profits have been climbing steadily. The place stays packed, and the money's flowing strong. It's making serious cash for both of us."

Kyle nodded, impressed. "I trusted you with it for a reason. Most people would've crumbled under that kind of responsibility, especially someone who was working as a cashier with me just a few months back. Back then we were ringing up orders and counting tills together. Now you're running the whole operation. That's not small."

Nate shook his head, a mix of humility and pride on his face. "Honestly? It's way different from what we were doing before. Back then we were just cashiers — dealing with rude customers, closing up at night, the usual grind. Now I'm the one making real decisions, handling problems when they come up, keeping everything smooth. Sometimes I still can't believe you handed me the keys like that. The responsibility feels heavy, but I'm handling it."

"You are," Kyle said simply, meeting his eyes. "That's why it's working. The club's doing better, and that only strengthens everything I've built. I'm proud of how you've stepped up, Nate."

Nate exhaled, visibly moved by the praise. "Thanks, Kyle. Seriously. You gave me a real shot when most people wouldn't have. Working for you has changed everything."

Kyle raised his glass in a small toast. "To new chapters — for both of us."

They clinked glasses, the sound crisp in the quiet luxury of the restaurant.

Nate grinned again. "So… you're really leaving the country soon?"

Kyle nodded, setting his glass down. "Yeah. Things are moving fast. But I wanted to see you before I go. Make sure you're solid."

"I'm good," Nate assured him. "Better than good. Just… keep in touch when you can, okay? And if you ever need anything on this side, I've got your back. Always."

Kyle smiled, the weight of the moment settling comfortably between them. For the first time in a long while, watching someone he had once worked alongside truly flourish felt like a quiet victory amid all the chaos.

-

Isabella sat at her sleek glass desk on the single floor of the agency headquarters, the quarterly financial report glowing on her laptop screen. The late afternoon sun filtered through the large windows, casting long golden beams across the polished floor.

Her eyes scanned the numbers once, then twice. She froze.

"Seven million dollars."

A slow, stunned smile began to form on her lips. "Seven million… in one quarter? That's insane. We've never come close to that before. This smashes every expectation I had."

She leaned closer, heart beating faster with excitement. Then her gaze sharpened on the figure again.

"Wait."

Her finger traced the line slowly. "One… two… three… four… five… six… seven… eight zeros?"

Isabella's breath caught in her throat.

"Seventy… million?"

She had missed an entire zero.

It was seventy million dollars.

Not seven. Seventy.

The realization hit her like a wave. Her hands started to tremble as she gripped the edge of the desk. "Oh my God. This can't be right. Seventy million in one quarter? That's… that's not possible. We were hoping for maybe eight or nine million at best. This is beyond anything I dreamed."

Before she knew it, adrenaline surged through her body. She pushed her chair back sharply and stood up, legs feeling unsteady. She almost ran out of the office — the urge to burst through the doors, run down the hallway, and scream at the top of her lungs was overwhelming.

"Calm down, Isabella. Breathe. You can't lose it in front of the team."

She forced herself to stay put, taking slow, deliberate breaths. Her heart hammered wildly in her chest. She walked quickly but calmly to the private area at the back of the floor, stepping outside through the rear exit for some fresh air. The cool breeze hit her face as she leaned against the wall, gripping the railing tightly.

"Seventy million dollars. Seventy. Million."

Inner monologue raced through her mind in a dizzying loop. "How? How did we pull this off? The campaigns, the new clients, the restructuring… it all worked. But this level of growth? This isn't normal. This is life-changing."

She closed her eyes, forcing herself to compose her breathing. The urge to scream in pure joy still bubbled inside her, but she held it down, letting the wind carry away some of the overwhelming emotion.

This success wasn't just numbers on a screen. It was proof that her dreams were no longer distant hopes — they were happening right now, under her leadership.

And it was all thanks to him.

He had bought the agency from her, yet he left her fully in charge as CEO. He trusted her completely, giving her the freedom, the resources, and the support to chase her vision without interference. Most owners would have taken control, changed everything, pushed their own agenda. But he didn't. He believed in her.

A single tear slipped down Isabella's cheek — a tear of pure, overwhelming joy.

"He trusted me. Even after buying the company, he let me run it my way. And look what we built together…"

She wiped the tear away quickly, a soft, radiant smile breaking across her face as she stared out at the city.

This was more than profit.

This was validation.

This was her dream, alive and thriving beyond anything she had ever imagined.
